RECRUITMENT TO THE POST OF PEONS (COOKS) ON THE
ESTABLISHMENT OF HIGH COURT OF KARNATAKA.

Applications in the prescribed proforma appended hereto are invited from
the candidates who are qualified and are eligible as on the last date fixed for
receipt of applications for recruitment to 50 posts (including 04 posts reserved
for candidates belonging to Hyderabad-Karnataka Region [371(J)] of Peons
(Cooks) on the establishment of High Court of Karnataka.
NOTE: This office Notification No.HCE 535/2013 dated 17.10.2013,
calling applications for 50 posts of Peons (Cooks) STANDS
CANCELLED. Hence, applicants who had applied in pursuance of the
said Notification, SHALL SUBMIT A FRESH APPLICATION, if
educationally qualified as per this notification. However, they need
not pay the application fee again and they shall furnish the
particulars regarding fee paid earlier i.e., Indian Postal Order
No./DD No./Date, in the specified column of the application.
Further, the age of such applicants will be reckoned as on the date
of the earlier Notification.
2.
Method of Recruitment: Selection of candidates will be made in
accordance with the High Court of Karnataka Service (Conditions of Service
and Recruitment) Rules, 1973, as amended from time to time and High Court
of Karnataka (Direct Recruitment by Selection) Rules, 1984 as amended from
time to time.

3. Minimum Qualification:
Must have passed Tenth Standard or equivalent and have experience in
cooking.

6. Probation: The applicant if appointed shall be initially on probation for a
period of two years or for extended period if necessary
7. Age limit: Applicants must have attained the age of 18 years and must not
exceed the age of:(a) 40 years in the case of a person belonging to Scheduled Caste
or Scheduled Tribe or Category-I of other Backward Classes.
(b) 38 years in the case of a person belonging to Category-II-A, II-B
or III-A, III-B of Other Backward Classes; and
(c) 35 years in case of others.
(d) Not withstanding anything contained in Rules 6 of the Karnataka Civil
Services (General Recruitment) Rules, 1977,
i.
in case of an applicant who is working or holding a post under the
Government of a local authority or a Corporation established by a
State Act or Central Act or established by the Government under a
State Act or Central Act and owned or controlled by the Government
by the number of years during which he is or was holding such post
or ten years whichever is less;

ii.
in case of candidate who is an ex-serviceman - by three years plus the
number of years of service rendered by him in the Armed Forces of the
Union;
iii.
in case of a candidate who is physically handicapped - by ten years;
iv.
in the case of a candidate who is widow - by ten years;
(e) The minimum and maximum age limit will be as on the last date of
submission of application i.e., 22.12.2014.
8. Those candidates called for Test / Interview will have to appear before the
authorities in the premises of the High Court of Karnataka, Principal Bench
at Bangalore at their cost.
9. Candidates shall not try to bring extraneous influence by any means in
support of his/her candidature for appointment. If any candidate is found
to have brought such extraneous influence, then such candidate will be
liable for disqualification from appointment.
10.
Application fee: A fee of Rs.150/- (Rupees One Hundred and Fifty Only)
is prescribed for every application. It should be remitted by means of
Crossed Indian Postal Order drawn in favour of the Registrar General,
High Court of Karnataka, High Court Buildings, Bangalore – 560 001,
and the same should be submitted along with the application. Fee once
paid shall not be refunded under any circumstances.
Applicants
belonging to Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe, Category I and Physically
Handicapped persons are exempted from payment of fees.

Application Form:-
Application in the prescribed proforma shall be
filled in by the candidates in their own handwriting and shall accompany
self attested copies of the following certificates.
(a) Three Certificates of character, one from the Principal /
Head of the Institution in which he/she had last studied and
two from respectable persons not related to him/her,
testifying to his/her character.
(b) Marks Cards of Tenth Standard or Equivalent.
(c) Candidates claiming the benefit of reservations /age
relaxation under SC /ST /Cat-I/ IIA/ IIB/ IIIA / IIIB shall
produce a certificate in the form prescribed by the
Government issued by the competent authority.
(d) Candidates claiming reservation under Rural / Physically
Handicapped / Ex – Servicemen / Kannada Medium /
Displaced for projects/Widow candidates shall produce the
certificate in the form prescribed by the Government issued
by Competent Authorities.
(e) Candidates claiming reservation under Local Cadre i.e.,
Candidates belonging to Hyderabad Karnataka Region shall
produce the relevant certificate issued by the Competent
Authority as prescribed under The Karnataka Public
Employment (Reservation in appointment for HyderabadKarnataka Region) (Issue of Eligibility Certificates) Rules,
2013.
(f) A passport size photo be affixed at the place provided on the
application.
12.
Last date for receipt of application:- Applications complete in all
respects shall reach the Registrar General, High Court of Karnataka, High
Court Buildings, Bangalore 560 001 on or before 22-12-2014 (05.00 P.M.).

Note: (i) Incomplete applications / applications without requisite experience
shall be liable to be rejected without notice.
Original
certificates and testimonials are to be submitted only at the time
of test/interview. Candidates shall not forward the original
documents alongwith the application and only copy of the
documents to be enclosed along with the application.

rejected
In service candidates shall submit their application through
their official superiors so as to reach the Registrar General,
High Court of Karnataka, High Court Buildings, Bangalore –
560 001, on or before the last date fixed for receipt of the

If the last date fixed for the receipt of the applications happens
to be a General Holiday, the next working day shall be the last
date fore receipt of applications.
(v)
Candidates claiming reservation under Hyderabad-Karnataka
Region are to indicate their preference for selection under
Residual Parent Cadre/Local Cadre in the column No. 15 of
the application.
