Scan Display has completed many projects in Africa, from small
exhibition stands to large pavilions. Examples include: Petro SA stands
in Ghana, Ivory Coast and Dubai; the African Development Forum
Exhibition in Addis Ababa for the United Nations.
Scan Display has managed projects in Europe, North America and Asia.
These include the AIDS World Congress 2012 stand in Vienna, the South
African Department of Science and Technology stand in Beijing in 2013,
the Petro SA stand in Moscow for the World Petroleum Conference
2014, the South African Department of Arts and Culture stand for the
14th International Architecture Exhibition in Venice.

Scan Display, in partnership with Interactive Africa, was awarded the tender to create and
manage the South African Climate Change Response Expo (CCR Expo) for the Department of
Environmental Affairs. The Expo ran concurrently with the United Nations 17th Conference of the
Parties (COP17). The project involved converting an empty parking lot into a 20 000m2 indoor and
outdoor exhibition and event.
Scan-Interactive supplied the full range of exhibition services and infrastructure, conference
and networking facilities, a media centre, a food market and on-site kitchen, and a stage for
live entertainment. They had only three months to plan and implement the project, which
incorporated numerous event greening practices.

Prasa approached Scan Display to build its five-year anniversary activation in 2014. Scan Display
had to build five exhibition stands across South Africa, in Johannesburg, East London, Cape Town,
Durban and Port Elizabeth.

Scan On Show, a joint venture between Scan Display and On Show Solutions, was appointed the
managing agent for Meetings Africa 2011 - present. This has involved organising all aspects of the
exhibition, including the infrastructure and all event services.
At Meetings Africa 2014, South African Tourism hosted 123 International Buyers and 32
International Media representatives from core global markets, and this year’s Association Day was
attended by 52 delegates.

services including rolled carpeting, sound-dampened meeting rooms and the use of renewable
energy, LED lighting and fabric graphics on exhibition stands.
Integrity, honesty and ethical business practices – Scan Display adheres to a strict Code of
Conduct and employs a philosophy of honesty, ethics and transparency in all its dealings.
Sustainability – Scan Display is a champion of sustainability in the South African exhibition
and event industry. Scan Display’s Managing Director, Justin Hawes, is Chairman of the Event
Greening Forum, an organisation formed to promote sustainability within the events industry.

Hawes, is a Chartered Accountant. This has resulted in a company with
