The Workshop
Operating with the most appropriate methods is crucial for
every industry sector, and that is especially true in the increasingly sophisticated, interdisciplinary field of medical device
technology. In the present workshop, experts will present the
international state of the art in development, manufacturing
and clinical use of orthopedic bone implants. On the research
and development side, event will cover aspects of biomaterials
research and simulation, innovative processing strategies,
cell-surface interactions and testing. Industrial and clinical
implementation of innovations will be addressed by leading
medical device companies and clinical experts. The two-day
workshop is co organised by the European Virtual Institute
on Knowledge-Based Multifunctional Materials (KMM VIN)
and Fraunhofer Institute for Manufacturing Technology and
Advanced Materials (IFAM), and will be held from 21-22 May
2014 in Bremen Germany.
