American Royal Crowns Champs The MLBA Board of Directors and junior advisors met at the Heart of Missouri/ Cattle Drive Sale in Lebanon, MO October 13. Mark your calendars for the weekend of April 12-13, 2014. Members of the Missouri Limousin Breeders Association and the Heart of Missouri will gather in Lebanon for the annual meeting, banquet and benefit auction on Saturday followed by the “Great American Pie Sale” on Sunday. The festivities will take place at the Laclede County Fairgrounds in Lebanon. We hope to have a large contingent of Limousin enthusiasts, commercial breeders, friends and family travel to Lebanon for the weekend events. A record number of bidder numbers were registered by a standing room only crowd which actively bid and purchased 127 lots of consigned cattle from 21 producers representing the states of Missouri, Oklahoma, Arkansas, and Kentucky. The Heart of Missouri Association Sale The high-selling lot was AUTO Daddy 111A, a 3/2/13 homozygous black, homozygous polled Lim-Flex 50 percent son of CL Burbank out of Logan’s 903R. Thomas Farms of Leslie, AR; M&R Limousin of Bourbon, MO; and Glendenning Limousin of Lebanon, MO teamed up to purchase the consignment from Pinegar Limousin of Springfield, MO for $15,000. Colin Shady of Louisville, KY purchased the full sister to the high-selling lot, AUTO Amity 205A, a 1/28/13 homozygous black, homozygous polled Lim-Flex 50 percent daughter of CL Burbank out of Logan’s 903R for $8,800. This female was also consigned by Pinegar Limousin. ATAK Limousin of Avon, IL purchased AUTO Abellina 2137A, a 3/12/13 homozygous black, homozygous polled Lim-Flex 50 percent daughter of AUTO Will Power 160X out of PBRS Pina Marie 811U for $5,500 consigned by Pinegar Limousin. Ken Glazier of Kingfisher, OK had the final bid of $3,500 on Mary Lue, a 10/2/05 red, horned daughter of COJR High Tide 236M out of D’Hanis Glory 634N with her 10/4/13 polled heifer calf consigned by Nance Limousin of Berryville, AR. Glazier also purchased LL Monique 368, a 10/29/03 red, horned daughter of FLSH Fullback 38K out of LL Misty Playgirl 124 consigned by Nance Limousin, for $3,000. 4J Roast, a 6/13/11 red, double 12/1/11 homozygous black, polled son of KAJO Responder 120R out of MAGS Scandal for $3,900. Double A Limousin of Shawnee, KS had the final bid of $3,800 on AUTO Windy 277Z, a 10/5/12 black, homozygous polled daughter of Ken Glazier of Kingfisher, OK and James Lucas of Roff, OK purchased Fullblood cattle at the Cattle Drive Sale. Dennis Alt and Cole Abele of Double A Limousin, Nevada, MO purchased three females at the sale. Mark Hayden of Buck Ridge Limousin, Rogersville, MO thanked George Hubbard of Magness Land & Cattle for his purchase of the “Pick of the Flush” at the Heart of Missouri Sale. 9 polled son of SVL Polled Impact 516U out of JELU Polled Lucinda consigned by 4J Limousin of Farmington, MO was purchased for $3,300 by Tommy Baxley of Slocomb, AL. Baxley purchased several 4J consigned bulls ranging from $2,800 to $3,300. Two Fullblood breeders donated females with the proceeds to go to the junior association. Crockett Rose Branch Farm consigned CDJL TM’s Joyau 257Z, a 3/17/12 red, double polled daughter of JELU Polled Trademark 620 out of Polled Sarita. She was purchased by Stephen Haynes of ACH Holdings LLC, Bowling Green, KY for $2,500. Rockin Horse Farm of Fair Grove, MO purchased the consignment from Brown’s Limousin of Urbana, MO, for $1,900.
