General Terms and Conditions
1. The competition guidelines have been established in accordance with the current version of the
rules (Wettkampfbestimmungen – WB) of the German Swimming Association (Deutscher
Schwimm-Verband e.V.). The rules follow the German system of law (Rechtsordnung) and
include the Anti-Doping Guidelines. Handicapped swimmers with the required classification
certificate will additionally be subject to the rules of the German Handicap Association (Deutscher
Behindertensportverband – DBS).
All races will be subject to the one Start Rule in accordance with §125 of the WB.
2. In accordance with the resolution of the "Fachsparte Schwimmen" §9 Section 2 of the WB-AT
(child protection law), the following restrictions will apply to those swimmers born in 2005 and
2006. Impacted Swimmers are allowed 6 starts per day and are only allowed to participate in the
following competitions:
2005 –
50m Backstroke, Breaststroke, Freestyle and Butterfly
100m Backstroke, Breaststroke, Freestyle and Butterfly
200m Backstroke, Breastroke, Freestyle and Relay
400m Frestyle
2006 –
50m Backstroke, Breaststroke, Freestyle and Butterfly
100m Backstroke, Breaststroke and Freestyle
200m Backstroke and Freestyle
3. The competition pool is 50m long with 8 lanes. The lanes are separated by lane ropes. The entire
pool is 1.8 meters deep and the water temperature is 27°C.
4. Times will be measured electronically. Depending on the number of registrations, a change in
race start times is possible. The clubs will be informed of these changes once the results of all
registrations have been finalised.
5. The races will be divided into heats in accordance with WB based on the registered times
submitted for each swimmer. The heats will not be organised according to age groups.
Judging and Awards
1. Judging of individual races will be done by age group:
2006-2005/ 2004-2003/ 2002-2001/ 2000-1999/ 1998-1997/ 1996 and older
2. Winners of places 1-3 in the corresponding age groups will be awarded Medals and certificates

"KSW Sprintcup"
The KSW Sprintcup will run as follows:
There will be four races broken down into an 8th final (round of the best 8), quarter final,
semi-final, and final. These races will be run in "knockout style". Qualifiers for the 8th final
will be the eight fastest swimmers from race 1 and the eight fastest swimmers from race 2.
The two last place swimmers from each round will drop out.
The remaining six swimmers will start the quarterfinal. The quarterfinal can start directly in
the water or outside the water. The quarterfinal begins exactly three minutes after the end of
the 8th final. This process will continue until all but two swimmers are knocked out. These
two swimmers will swim against each other in the final round.
Swimmers who are not knocked out, will remain in their same lanes through to the semi-final.
In the final, the swimmer with the fastest time, will start in lane 4. The remaining swimmer will
start in lane 5.
Winners of the KSW Sprintcup (Races 101 and 102) will be awarded cash prices in the
following amounts:

4. Winners of other final races will receive a non-monetary prize.
5. If Sprintcup records are broken during the competition, (semi-final and final are eligible) each
record breaker will be awarded €50. If records are broken in a competition by multiple
swimmers, the fastest timed Swimmer will receive the prize.

Preferably, registrations should be done via Email. Registration details should be formatted according
to the current DSV or Lenex standard. The registration sheet (DSV Form 101) and Registration List
(DSV-Form 102) should be submitted as files.

Registration Close:
Registration officially closes on Friday, Sept 26 2014 at 20:00 (8 pm). All registrations must be
received by this time. Late registrations and changes will be taken into consideration based on the
number of open slots 60 minutes prior to the start of the competition. Fees for late registrations will
be €10.
All clubs will receive a registration confirmation. If confirmation is not received by Sept 27 2014, the
club should immediately contact K. Matthes at the above address.
Each club will receive the results of the competition in both PDF and DSV formats. If hardcopy is
preferred, please advise this at the time of registration.
