WELCOME
BY THE CHAIRMAN
Dear policy makers, scientists, engineers and entrepreneurs in the field of city
infrastructure development,
More and more people live in large cities nowadays. Especially the fast growing economies, where
the infrastructure is not always able to keep pace with the progress, appropriate solutions for a sustainable development have to be found. Therefore innovative approaches and new technologies are
needed in order to shape this process in a positive way for the people.
Kuwait is one of these fast growing economies strategic location at the Northern part of the Gulf, with
easy access to dynamic neighboring markets. Still rich in oil reserves (10% of the world), Kuwait is
steadily diversifying its economy and developing into a central hub for Middle East.
After a successful start of the Infrastructure Middle East (IME) in Bahrain in 2010, IME 2015 will take
place in Kuwait for the first time. The Infrastructure Middle East 2015 is a platform for international
industry players and potential investors to gather in Kuwait providing updates on the market potential
and development plan of various infrastructures as well as implication of new economic regulations
arising for the infrastructure sectors.
On the initiative of our local supporter IFA - International Financial Associates and in cooperation
with the infrastructure-related ministries and authorities I would like to invite you to come to Kuwait
and to get in discussion with Middle East experts and experts from all around the world in order to
discuss about the present situation, future projects and the right solutions in Kuwait and worldwide.
My special thanks go to His Highness Sheikh Jaber Mubarak Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, Prime Minister of
Kuwait for his support as patron of the Infrastructure Middle East.
On behalf of all the involved ministries in Kuwait I would like to welcome you to this prospering city.
Dr. Klaus Ritter
President of Euro Institute for Information and Technology Transfer
Chairman of Infrastructure Middle East
