Kannur KKMCC plans picnic:
Kannur District Committee of KuwaitKerala Muslim Cultural Centre, the
biggest expatriate association in Kuwait,
is a non-profit socio-cultural association
registered with Indian Embassy in Kuwait
plans to arrange a picnic for families and
bachelors on the 2nd day of Eid-Al-Adha
Mubarak, probably coincides on Sunday,
5 Oct 2014.
The place of picnic trip has been identified as ‘World Famous Failaka Island’. An
approximate 3 hours trip (up & down) has
been calculated for Failaka by boat.
The decision was taken in a meeting
held at Sangham Hotel recently and

Pravasi Bhartiya Divas 2015: The
Government of India has decided to hold
the next Pravasi Bhartiya Divas (PBD2015) at Mahatma Mandir, Gandhinagar,
Gujarat in January 2015.
The effort would be to have more
meaningful and interactive sessions that
would address the issues and concerns of
the overseas Indian community effectively. Since 2015 marks the hundredth
anniversary of the return of the greatest
“PRAVASI” of all, Mahatma Gandhi from
South Africa, it is desired that PBD-2015
would be celebrated in a grand way.
The detailed programme of PBD-2015
is being prepared and will be uploaded on
the Embassy’s Website in due course.

AWL cooking class: The American
Women’s League (AWL) in collaboration
with one of the restaurants in Kuwait has
started a cooking class for its members.
The first class was held on Jan 11 with
about 25 members attending. A very nice
breakfastk buffet was served before the
session started. After breakfast, members
moved into a specially-designed kitchen
classroom where the class was held. Chef
Tony, showed the members how to make
a variety of Mexican dishes. After each
dish, a couple of members would come
forward to practice making the same dish.
When the dishes were completed, the
members delighted in sampling the food.
In addition, each AWL member was
given an apron and silver membership
