ϐirsttimeinthehistoryof
thecharterschoolsystemin
DCthataschoolhasrelinquisheditschartertomergewithDCPS.HHS
hasengagedinaMemorandumofUnderstandingtomergeHHSwith
DCPSforschoolyear15/16.Nextyear,HHSwilloperateunderthe
authorityoftheMayortoallowthenecessarytimetooutlinethedetails
ofthemerger.
Fifteenyearsago,HHSmadeacommitmenttoprovidestudentsinthe
Districtwithacademicenrichmentwhileallowingalegitimate
opportunityandunprecedentedaccesstothelargestindustryin
Washington,DC.BasedoncurrenttrendsandpatternswiththePublic
CharterSchoolBoard,theHHSBoardbelievesthatDCPSbest
understandstheuniquepurposeofHHSandwelcomesthesupportof
thehotelindustryinourcity'seducationsystem.

studentswiththeexposureandaccesstoourindustrythatthey

rapidlyevolvingpublicschoolsystem.Wearethrilledaboutthis

believestobethebestopportunityforourstudents,stakeholders,and
industry.HAWDCremainscommittedtoexposingstudentstoour
industryandwelookforwardtoworkingwithDCPSinthecoming
years.
