The event will involve a live-stream conversation between you and an audience at the Nam June Paik Art Center (www.njpartcenter.kr) in Gyeonggi-do, South Korea. Your feedback, recorded via a green-screened video feed, will be incorporated into the performances that follow on Sept. 13 and 14. Please plan on staying for the entire event from 8 - 11 pm! Please note that for the audience in Korea it will be Saturday morning on Sept 13th. From North Carolina to South Korea, commissioned by UNC’s Art Department and Carolina Performing Arts, combines the multimedia performance art of Liz Magic Laser with the choreography of Wendy Osserman. Collaborating for the first time, the mother-daughter duo examines internet news surfing. This performance piece employs live video feeds with green screen effects, repurposing the techniques of news production and dissemination in order to present an embodied reception of the news. The performance will feature dancers Denver Carlstrom, Chanelle Croxton, Victoria Facelli, Marie Garlock, Kaitlin June, Cori Kresge, Peter Pendergrass and Dorinda Thomas.
