Position Objective
The Casserole Club encourages the provision of home-cooked food with others who
might not always be able to cook for themselves, with the aim of promoting
community connections through sharing of meals.

Key Responsibilities and Duties
The position will take responsibility for:
•
Administration of the Casserole Club project.
•
Developing the local Casserole Club’s profile and marketing strategy.
•
Promotion of the concept within the local community.
•
Coordination with the Municipal Association of Victoria (MAV) Project Manager.
•
Attending briefings and training with MAV and the technology provider
(FutureGov).
•
Facilitating Council’s role with the Casserole Club website.
•
Reporting to stakeholders as appropriate.
•
Liaising with Council’s Communications Unit to manage local media
•
Collection and collation of data to inform evaluation of the project.
•
Some work outside of the spread of ordinary hours may be required.
Administration
•
Provide timely reports to the Healthy Ageing Engagement Team Leader,
Coordinator Community Support and MAV e.g. program performance, project
briefs, program evaluation etc.
Occupational Health and Safety and Risk
Management
•
Create, maintain and foster a safe work environment at all times.
•
Ensure that staff follow safe work practices, procedures, instructions and rules at
all times.
•
Perform all duties in a manner that ensure personal health and safety, and that
of others in the workplace and the general public.
•
Regularly inspect own immediate work environment and report all hazards or
incidents that can cause harm or that represent a threat to public safety.

•
Ensure compliance with the provisions of the Occupational Health and Safety
Regulations at all times.
•
Follow up on hazard corrective actions.
•
Ensure Council’s Risk Management Policy and Procedures are observed and
complied with at a personal level.
Record Keeping
This position is responsible for ensuring that all staff in their area are aware of, and
adhere to, the Records Management Policy.

To provide advice and information to staff and the wider community of the Shire
regarding the Casserole Club project.
•
The freedom to act is not limited by standards and procedures.

•

in accordance with the approved work plan, policies and procedures.
•
Make recommendations for future planning and development.
•
Actively participate at relevant meetings, forums and groups.
•
Problems are occasionally of a complex nature with solutions not related to
previously encountered situations. Guidance and advice would usually be
available.

underlying principles. Demonstrated skills in working effectively with groups and

•
An ability to manage time, set priorities and plan/organise one’s own work to

Qualifications and Experience
•
Diploma in Community Service, Community Development, Community Welfare
or related field, and or experience working in a community setting within
community based programs.
•
Knowledge and understanding of the issues facing older people and people with
disabilities living in the community, and their support needs
•
Knowledge and understanding of community development principles.
•
Demonstrated experience in event management in a paid or voluntary capacity.

Selection Criteria
1. Diploma in Community Service, Community Development, Community Welfare
or related field, and or experience working in a community setting within
community based programs.
2. Demonstrated experience in community engagement, community consultation,
and/or working people with a range of abilities and socio-economic
circumstances.
3. Well-developed written and verbal communication and presentation skills, and a
high degree of organisational and administrative skills.
4. Proficiency in word processing, data entry and client management software.
5. Willingness to undertake pre-employment medical check and National Police
Check.
Conditions of Employment
Employment conditions for all employees are in accordance with the current certified
agreements at this council and employment contract or industrial agreement,
organisational policies and procedures as amended.
