Conference & Exhibition has become through the years the most important international meeting in Egypt focusing
on oil, gas and energy issues.
The MOC 2014 Exhibition and Conference targets all the
Mediterranean countries, with a special focus on the
Southern shore. From the first edition in 2000, MOC has
become an international meeting for the oil & gas industry,
attracting several of the industry’s major players to Egypt.
This overall success endorses the importance of MOC
for the offshore petroleum industry, particularly for the
business and commercial relationships that bind the
Northern and Southern shores of the Mediterranean Sea.

Through its 10 years of activity the Egyptian Petroleum Sector has always worked to develop the main issues and to
increase the technical and scientific themes of the energy industry, focusing on the Mediterranean region and its most
important features.
Thanks to these continuous efforts, the MOC Conference is now recognized as a high professional and well attended
arena to discuss the latest discoveries in the oil & gas industry: more than 250 speakers presented their papers and
more than 1.650 delegates attended MOC technical sessions!
MOC 2014 Technical Committee will select the abstracts during the summer in order to make the conference agenda
available online from September 2014. Information for registering as delegate to attend the MOC 2014 Conference as
well as the registration form will be available online on www.moc-egypt.com from August 2014.

Unlocking the Potentials of Mediterranean Oil & Gas is the theme to be debated in the MOC 2014 plenary session, on
the first day, which is the most important of the highlights of the whole event, when CEOs and authorities from Northern
Africa, Europe and Middle East will present the state of the art and forecasts of the Mediterranean energy industry.
Alongside the event, the technical session of the Conference during the following days will focus on specific aspects and
current topics, providing valuable knowledge and updating participants on technical innovations and market updates.

CALL FOR PAPERS FOR MOC 2014 IS NOW OPEN
GUIDELINES FOR ABSTRACT PREPARATION
CRITERIA FOR ABSTRACT SELECTION:
Abstracts must be received by the MOC 2014 Programme Committee
by 15th AUGUST 2014
• The paper must not have had prior publication or circulation.
• The paper shall contain new major contribution in terms of knowledge
or experience in the oil & gas business.
• The paper must be technically correct and of interest to the petroleum
sector, it may present information about equipment and tools but must
avoid any commercialism and the use of tradenames.
• The abstract must have received the necessary clearance by the
company of the presenting author.
• Abstracts and Papers shall be submitted in electronic format according
to the standards set by the Committee using the on line submission form
available at www.moc-egypt.com
• The abstract text shall be min. 200 - max. 400 words and be written
in good English. Pictures and graphs must be avoided. The abstract
shall describe the technical content of the work, its possible application,
any technical or economic contribution.
Abstract submission after the deadline might not be considered for
evaluation. MOC 2014 Programme Committee will review and evaluate
the paper proposals submitted only on the basis of the information
supplied in the abstract.
Corresponding authors of papers selected for inclusion in the Conference
programme will be notified by 1st September 2014.
Manuscripts of papers selected must be provided no later than 15th
October 2014 for reviewing by the MOC 2014 Committee, prior to
inclusion in the Conference Proceedings.

Corresponding authors of papers selected for inclusion in the Conference programme will be notified by 1st September 2014.
Manuscripts of papers selected must be provided no later than 21st October 2014 for reviewing by the Committee prior to
inclusion in the Conference Proceedings completed with copies of slides, graphs or photographs needed for the paper
presentation. Papers received after the deadline cannot be guaranteed inclusion in the Proceedings.
The maximum length of papers is 14 (fourteen) typewritten pages including equations, tables, graphs or photographs located in the
proper place.
Full instructions on the preparation of manuscripts, slides, tables, graphs, etc., will be sent only to the corresponding author of each
selected paper.
Presenting Authors only are entitled to 50% discount on the conference registration cost (1 per paper).
Copyright of selected papers belongs to MOC. Authors of selected papers for MOC 2014 will be required to submit a copyright
clearance form to MOC. MOC Copyright policy consists in requesting authors to mention that their paper was first published at
MOC Conferences the same is presented at other conferences, seminars, etc.
MOC assumes no obligation for expenses incurred by authors for travel, lodging, food or other incidental expenses.

MOC 2014 will be held again in Alexandria, known as “The Pearl of the Mediterranean” because of its atmosphere,
ambience and cultural heritage and because it is located at the meeting point of three continents, Asia, Africa
and Europe.

MOC 2014 will be held again in Alexandria, known as “The Pearl of the Mediterranean” because of its atmosphere,
ambience and cultural heritage and because it is located at the meeting point of three continents, Asia, Africa and
Europe. Both the conference and exhibition will be held inside the BACC – Bibliotheca Alexandrina Conference Centre
that is located in front of the world known Library of Alexandria.
The Bibliotheca Alexandrina Conference Center is a state-of-the-art meeting and exhibition facility and is an integral
part of the Bibliotheca Alexandrina complex. It is located on the waterfront across from the Eastern Harbor and Silsilah
Peninsula. The Conference Center and the main Library are connected underground below the Plaza of Civilization.
A distinguished feature of the BACC is that it was designed, first and foremost, for international conferences, and
offers comprehensive services and diverse facilities: it houses four conference halls, meeting rooms, two exhibition
halls, a large reception lobby, restaurants and a coffee shop.
