Summer & Summer Intensive Updates from Nancy Call
Our three-week summer session is
under way, with new classes -- ballet
barre and stretching with Nancy
Call; choreography and production
and adult jazz taught by Gina
Grebe; and modern classes with
Stephanie Carter -- being offered as
well, are our pre-ballet, ballet,
pointe, and jazz classes.
We are so pleased with the enthusiasm and hard work of our students,
most of whom are attending.
Three of our ballet students were
accepted into summer intensives
out of the area.
Thi Samelson has completed her
two-week session with the American Ballet Theatre young dancer's
summer workshop in San Jose.
Placed in the highest level, she had a
wonderful experience and was exposed to a wide variety of teachers
and classes. She is looking forward
to auditioning again for next summer.
Alex Sutter is taking a two-month
summer intensive at the City Ballet
of San Francisco.
intensive and is having a great time.
For those students interested in attending a summer intensive out of
the area next summer, please contact Nancy Call for information.
Summer Intensive information is
advertised and published as early as
November, applications are often
due in December, and most auditions are held throughout January.
It is best to start the process early.

Guest Teacher Information for the
2014 NCD Summer Intensive
Stephanie Kim - was raised in Humboldt where she
trained as a classical ballerina. She started her travels to
prestigious ballet intensives, such as Pacific Northwest
Ballet, School of American Ballet and San Francisco Ballet, at the age of 13. While taking advantage of the commercial aspects the city has to offer she has been able to
stay true to her classical roots as well. Stephanie was part
of the 2013 Summer Intensive at North Coast Dance.
Jessi Trauth - is a professional actor, singer, and
dancer. Born in Montana in the midst of a lightning storm, dancin’ at two, she’s been movin’ and
shakin’ ever since. Her thirst for creative expression and drive to collaborate led her to NYC where
she earned a BFA in theatre from NYU–Tisch.
