Sam CARBIS Solutions LLC Structural MIG Welder Department: Darlington Production Summary Job Description: This position is responsible to set up a welding machine. This position is responsible for making quality welds to parts to meet Company standards while following job specific shop drawings. This position is responsible for reviewing and understanding material lists and parts on shop drawings. This position uses various electrically and pneumatically powered hand tools to assist in completing the work the position is responsible for before readying the project for the next work center. This position is responsible to ensure that welds are clean and spatter free. This position is responsible for following the direction provided on job specific work orders, as well as direction by the department supervisor and team members working on the job specific work order. This position is responsible to safely and efficiently make welds in a manner that meets the Company standard in order to move the work to through the system. This position is responsible to work at a pace that continually keeps work moving through the system and ensures the promised ship dates are met. This position must use knowledge of past projects to problem solve issues, assist others in problem solving, and train new employees to be proficient in their respective positions. This position must be able to effectively communicate with employees and other supervisors. This position is responsible for ensuring production goals and quality standards are met on a continual basis from one product to the next. This position is responsible for properly adhering to Company policies and complying with required standards for work orders and labor laws within the Structural Department on a continual basis from one product to the next and one employee to the next. Essential Job Functions: Work at a safe and productive pace while keeping pace with work demands Follow instructions when provided in written and verbal form Work by a priority list Follow safety rules Make consistent quality welds Accurately read a tape measure down to 1/16th of an inch Accurately read and interpret blueprints Work overtime when necessary/required and with short notice Work in all weather conditions as job requires working inside and outside through the course of a single shift Work in the natural element of heat and cold (production facility is not heated in winter nor cooled in summer) JD 42 04A Structural MIG Welder.docx Rev 1, 03/01/14 Sam CARBIS Solutions LLC Structural MIG Welder Other duties as assigned by management Skills/Qualifications Required: Pass a welding test Punctual Effectively follow directions Possess a minimum of two years in aluminum MIG welding Properly and accurately read a tape measure Operate a crane for use in lifting materials and work items off of the tables Physical Demands: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
