1.1 Date, time and location
Date of the proof: 2014 September 9th
Registration deadline: 2014 August 22 nd
Timetable:
 The presence of the candidates is requested at 9.00 am for the drawing deciding the
order of appearance.
 The proof starts at 10.00 am.
Location: Design Center – Galerie Ravenstein 51 (La Rotonde- First floor) – 1000 Brussels.

First proof : Classical concerto
 W. A. Mozart, first movement with cadence of the concerto n°3, 4 or 5
Second proof: Orchestral excerpts:

 First Movement with cadence of the concerto of Brahms, Tchaikovsky, Sibelius,
Mendelssohn, Prokofiev 1,2; Saint-Saëns 3 or Khachaturian
Attention: The order of the programme will be stipulated during the audition.

2. Regulations
2.1 Registration:
1. Fill in the inscription form on the website of the N.O.B,
http://www.nob-onb.be/fr/infos-pratiques/contact/recrutement/
2. Next, you will find on the website the orchestral excerpts as well as the audition’s
information file containing:
 General information (date, time, place, regulations, etc...)
 The official registration form.
3. The candidate must return to N.O.B. before the registration closing date the following
documents :
 The completed registration form.
 A copy of his or her I.D. or passport and a copy of the working permit (for non-eu
residents).
4. Only after reception of all the above documents, the candidate will be officially
registered for the audition.
5. The National Orchestra of Belgium will then send a convening letter to the candidate. If
the candidate does not receive this convening letter (at latest one week before the
audition), it is up to the candidate to notify the audition Secretariat of this fact so it can
be rectified after verification.
2.2 Proofs procedure:
The audition examining jury is chaired by our Concert master.
The order of the programme of proof sis set the day itself by the members of the jury.
All the proofs are qualifying rounds.
If too many candidates are registered for the audition and it proves to be impossible to complete
all of the proofs during initially stipulated day, the National Orchestra of Belgium reserves the
right to continue the tests on a date set subsequently while respecting reasonable time frame.
2.3 Piano accompaniment during the audition:
The Orchestra graciously makes a pianist-accompanist available to the candidates throughout
the period of the audition proofs.
If they wish, candidates can rehearse with the pianist chosen by the National Orchestra of
Belgium. In this case, it is up to them to contact him as quickly as possible. The expenses inherent
in rehearsals with the pianist are borne by the candidate

3. Recruitment conditions
3.1 General conditions
Every candidate must at least fulfil the following general conditions:
 Succeed in the audition
 Fulfill the general conditions for admission.
 For foreigners: comply with the laws of immigration.
3.2 Remuneration




Kind of contract: contract for a limited time, this contract will be renewed monthly
Duration: from October until January with a possibility to be prolonged.
Salary, for information purpose : Indexed gross salary – start of career – soloist :
€ 3.110,09
This salary is supplemented by allowances for travel, food, etc.
