Alumni: ♦ 30 Alumni visited GIET and discussed useful issues and gave their valuable suggestions to the Training & Placement cell .. Our alumni Mr. Ankit Gupta of 2013 batch of Dept. of CSE gave the lead for placing our students in a software company based at Hyderabad. ♦ Mr. Sameer Kumar Pradhan , presently working in TCS, (2007-2011 EEE) visited the department on 21ST Oct, 2014.. He shared his experience with the final year students regarding software field. He motivated and encouraged the students to improve their knowledge regarding Software and its applications. INDUSTRIALIST VISITED DEPT. ♦ Prof. (Dr) Guru Charan Patro, HR & OB Consultant and Trainer, Retired Professor and Head of Industrial Relation and Personnel Management, Dept., Berhampur University, Odisha Visited the campus on 1st November 2014. He addressed the students of MBA on Human Resource Management as a Career. ♦ Mr. S.Rajesh, Branch M a n a g e r, F u t u r e Generali India (Life Insurance Company Limited), Visakhapatnam visited GIET on 15th November, 2014. He addressed the students of MBA and advised them to groom themselves for the corporate world. During his interaction, he emphasized on the future and career of insurance sector. Satya Prasad, Associate Professor of Department of EE attended a workshop on “Solar Resource Assessment and how to make solar power more profitable” on November 12, 2014 at National Institute of Wind Energy in Chennai Jointly conducted by the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) and India’s Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE). The workshop was conducted as an initiative in the field of renewable energy between the two countries under the U.S.-India Energy Dialogue. ♦ Dr Mahendra K Sahu, GIMS,Gunupur participated in the International Workshop on “Collection and Management of EBook &E-Resources” held at NIT, Raipur, during 14Nov-15Nov, 2014. PROCTOR SYSTEM ♦ GIET, Gunupur has started the proctor system with the aim of strengthening the student – teacher relationship. The aim of this proctor system is to achieve a global recognition through creative transformation of our students. With a view to effect closer contact between student and teacher, to oversee the regular progress of the student and to help the student in general, all the students have been divided into 15 to 20 groups and placed under a proctor, The proctor will meet periodically to sort out various issues and problems of the student in a free, frank and amicable manner.
