Dear Parents,
It is hard to believe but it is almost time to celebrate Halloween! Hanover Highlands is very
fortunate that our students are able to participate in two Halloween events. The first event is
sponsored by our PTA, which is the Halloween Bash. The second event is classroom parties that take
place on the 31st of October.
The P.T.A. will host the Halloween Bash on Friday, October 24th at 6:00 p.m. and will end at
8:00p.m. This is a fun event where children may participate in trick-or-treating, dancing, and some fun
games. Students may wear the Halloween costumes to this fun PTA event. Students must be
accompanied by an adult. Students will not be allowed into the school for the Halloween Bash if they are
unaccompanied by an adult.
During the school day on October 31st our students will enjoy a Halloween classroom party. The
festivities will begin at 1:30 p.m. We encourage students to bring their costumes to school and they will
be able to change into their costumes after the lunch hour. The students will first participate in a school
parade that will go around the perimeter of the building. Parents are invited to watch the parade, but
we ask that parents do not interfere with the students while they are participating in the parade. There
will be cones to outline the route for our students. After the parade students will proceed back into the
school to enjoy their classroom parties. Parents will not be allowed back into the school after the
parade unless they are the PTA party room representative.
Here are a few reminders to keep in mind when considering your child’s costume. Please help
your child in making an appropriate choice when it comes to selecting a Halloween costume to wear at
school. Students should wear costumes that allow them to move around easily and do not obstruct
their vision. For safety reasons, we are asking that toy swords, toy guns, or any other large, sharp,
pointed objects be left at home. They will be taken away if brought to school. We also ask that students
avoid costumes that may be potentially frightening to younger children in the building such as costumes
that depict blood and violence. Roller blades and/or other such accessories must also be left at home.
Thank you for considering these items in guiding your child as he/she prepares for our school Halloween
celebration. It is our hope that this time set aside is fun without being offensive to any child.
We are looking forward to a fun-filled afternoon. Thank you for your assistance in following the
school’s Halloween procedures. Please remember that students will be dismissed at their regular
dismissal time, which is 3:00 p.m.

Estimados padres,
¡Es difícil creer que pronto celebraremos Halloween! Somos muy afortunados en
Hanover Highlands pues nuestros estudiantes celebraran dos eventos de Halloween. El
primer evento el Halloween Bash es patrocinado por nuestro PTA. El segundo evento el 31
de octubre serán las fiestas en las aulas.
El PTA patrocinara el Halloween Bash el viernes 24 de octubre empezando a las
6pm hasta las 8pm. Este es un evento divertido donde los niños pueden participar
recogiendo dulces, bailando, y con juegos divertidos. Los alumnos pueden venir disfrazados
a este divertido evento del PTA. Los estudiantes tienen que estar acompañados por un
adulto. Los estudiantes no serán permitidos a la escuela durante el Halloween Bash si no
están acompañados por un adulto.
Durante el día escolar el 31 de octubre nuestros alumnos disfrutaran de las fiestas
de Halloween en las aulas. Las fiestas comenzarán a la 1:30p.m. Nosotros esperamos que
los alumnos traigan sus disfraces a la escuela y que se cambien después del almuerzo. Los
estudiantes participaran primero en el desfile escolar alrededor del perímetro del edificio.
Invitamos a los padres a ver el desfile, pero les pedimos a los padres que no interfieran con
los estudiantes que están desfilando. Los conos, marcaran la ruta para nuestros
estudiantes. Después del desfile los alumnos regresaran a la escuela, para disfrutar de las
fiestas en sus aulas. Los únicos padres que podrán regresar a la escuela después del desfile
serán los padres que están ayudando en los salones durante las fiestas del PTA.
Siguiente son algunos recordatorios para que tenga en cuenta mientras escoge el
disfraz para su hijo. Por favor, ayude a su niño seleccionar un disfraz de Halloween
adecuado para usar en la escuela. Los estudiantes deben seleccionar disfraces que les
permite moverse fácilmente y no obstruyan su visión. Por razones de seguridad, les
pedimos que espadas de juguete, pistolas de juguete, o cualquier otro objeto grande, afilado
y puntudo se quede en casa. Si los trae a la escuela se los quitaremos. También les pedimos
a los estudiantes que eviten el uso de disfraces que pueden ser potencialmente espantosos
para los niños más pequeños en la escuela, como los disfraces que representan la sangre y
la violencia. Patines, patinetas y otros accesorios también deben quedarse en casa. Gracias
por tener en cuenta estas sugerencias mientras guía a su hijo en su preparación para la
celebración de Halloween en la escuela. Esperamos que este tiempo sea divertido sin ser
ofensivo para ningún niño.
