The intention is to build on your current knowledge and experience of psychotherapy. The module does not restrict itself exclusively to the exam syllabus and will provide an overview of a variety of therapies and of psychotherapy research. The material in the teaching sessions should be supplemented by further reading. MRCPsych Curriculum The module is designed around the MRCPsych curriculum, but cannot comprehensively cover everything in the curriculum. You are advised to familiarise yourself with the psychotherapy section of the curriculum, which is available on the Royal College of Psychiatrists website. Other Educational Experiences The module is designed to build on and be complimentary to your other learning opportunities in psychotherapy. These include attendance at a case based discussion group, seeing psychotherapy cases under supervision and academic study. Opportunities to develop competence also arise in routine clinical practice and in educational supervision.
