KOANGA FESTIVAL
It was a very proud moment to attend the performances of
local kapa haka groups at the recent Koanga festival held
at Farm Cove intermediate. Our kapa haka group also
performed at the opening of the Whare in the Emily Maud
Garden of memories. Thank you to all of the students
involved who committed to hours of practice. A special
thank you to teachers Mrs Debbie Keil and Mrs Gigi Milea
for their roles in leading the group.
Zombied our school musical production for 2014 will be
presented in the school hall from Tuesday 28th October until
Thursday 30th October. Tickets are $7.50 and are available
from the school office from Wednesday 15th October. We
want to reassure people that this is a family show and our
Zombies are merely sleep walking. They were put under a
spell cast by a voodoo mystic, and they end up very happy
by the end of the show. There is no blood but you may see
a skeleton or two. Over 250 BBI students have had
involvement to make this a fun and memorable show
including the cast, dancers, crew, band and support team.

ourselves. With the incentive of a free
mufti day, the response was
overwhelming. We collected in about
1500 cans. I know one girl who
brought in 20 cans to help those in
need. The people who collected the
cans were shocked and pleased.
