Spectrum Monthly meetings
First Baptist Church of Duluth 1st Thursday of each month 6:30-8 pm
Sept 4 "Transition Preparation for Various Phases of Life and School" Presented by: Jackie McNair,
GCPS Parent Mentor Lindsey B. Radabaugh, LMSW, School Social Worker
Oct 2 "Practical Tips for Special Needs Families" Presented by: Aja Rutledge, owner of Spectrum Life Services
SLS specializes in helping families organize their space and life by incorporating and
balancing the needs of their child's disorder(s) into their lives
Nov 6 "Advocating for your Child" Presented by: Anna Bullard Anna will share strategies
for how to make a difference for your child through advocacy
Dec 4 Spectrum's Annual Holiday Party – Bring a dish to share, Appetizer or desert.
Party for adults & party for kids. Santa & Winter Wonderland pictures! Gifts for all kids!

Each month there is a breakout group for Grandparents, Dads, Parents of Adults with Autism
and Parent of Individuals with Aspergers in addition to the main meeting
Social Skills Groups & Childcare Offered During Monthly Meetings
$5.00 donation is requested to help cover the program costs
Social Skills groups for those with autism ages 4-adult are offered
Childcare for those under 4
Social Support Group for Adults with Asperger's/HFA who have completed high school, ages 21-30
Autism Siblings Social Group ages 5-12
Social Skills Group for Teens with Asperger's/High Functioning Autism
Middle Schoolers Social Skills Group for Tweens with Autism/Asperger's
GA Race for Autism & Fall Festival.

each month for children with disabilities and their siblings, adults $6.

What is happening this
Camp Journey Overnight Camp
Oct 24-26 Camp Twin Lakes Will-A-Way, Winder, GA
Time: 6:30 PM Friday to 10:00 AM Sunday
Middle/High/Young Adult with HFA/aspics Specialty Group Cost: $175
Registration is on the Spectrum website.
Our weekend will start at 6:30PM on Friday and end at 10AM on Sunday.
Activities will include archery, climbing wall, pumpkin decorating, crafts and much more.
All campers will sleep in air conditioned/heated cabins.
Our staff are experienced certified teachers or paraprofessionals trained in the
characteristics and strategies to help individuals on the spectrum.
Spectrum’s Saturday Social Skills Group
Saturday Social Skills group
Elementary age children with HFA/Asperger's at New Directions in Suwanee.
The group will meet from noon to 4PM on Select Saturdays
The cost is $35 plus a $2.50 registration fee.
Respite, waivers and family support funds may be used to help pay for this activity
Spectrum Fun & Friends Group
Elementary, or middle/high children with moderate ASD
Spend a Saturday participating in fun activities, working on social skills and adaptive behaviors
in a small group setting.
Cost:$50 per Saturday.
Respite vouchers, waivers and family support funds can be used towards the payment amount.
Other Events
Monthly Spectrum Skyzone Family nights.
Thursday, August 21, Sept. 18, and Oct. 16.
AT SKY ZONE IN SUWANEE 6:00 pm to 8:00pm
tickets are $7.00 per hour must be purchased at the door to receive our group discount
(plus $2.00 sock fee – Once you buy their required socks you bring them each time
and do not have to pay this fee again on subsequent visits)
