APPOINTMENT OF COMMITTEES AND THEIR FUNCTIONS
Dear Lions, Leos & Lionesses,
In compliance with Articles and the Bye-Laws of Multiple District 322, in accordance
with general practice prevailing and in continuation of Official Call so as to make the
convention successful with fruitful deliberations, I have great pleasure in appointing
the following committees to function in connection with the 41st Annual Multiple
District Convention of MD322 to be held on Saturday the 19th & Sunday the 20th
April’2014 at Tata Auditourium, XLRI Campus, CH Area, Jamshedpur-831001
(Jharkhand).
The success of this Multiple District Convention depends entirely on the active
participation of Lions fraternity of the Multiple District. I, therefore, request you to
motivate Lions, Lionesses and Leos of our Multiple to attend the Convention in large
numbers and make it not only successful but a meaningful one.

FUNCTIONS
The Nomination Committee shall receive and scrutinize nominations and/or letters of
intent of the candidates for the posts of International Director and/ or Second
International Vice President and determine whether those candidates are qualified
and the nomination is valid in accordance to the provision of the Constitution & Bye
Laws.
The Committee shall scrutinize that each candidate is a member in good standing of
a chartered Lions club in good standing. This committee shall present its report to the
Multiple Convention when called upon by the Council Chairman.
Nomination Committee will receive notice of Intention from the candidates seeking
the endorsement as a candidate for the office of International Director or Second
International Vice President. Written Notice of Intention to seek such endorsement
should reach to the Multiple District 322 Council Secretary by 18th March 2014. The
Nomination Committee shall review and perfect the same by obtaining from each
respective candidate any additional evidence of such intention and qualification; as
may be necessary under the International constitution & Bye-Laws and shall place
nomination at such Multiple District Convention the name of each such Prospective
candidate who has fulfilled such procedural and constitutional requirements.

FUNCTIONS
The function of this Committee is to receive the list of authorized
Delegates/Alternates and to issue credentials to delegates/alternates attending the
Multiple District convention. This Committee shall certify the delegates/ alternate
delegates of the Clubs which are in good standing and also certify the validity of
credential and compile the credential statistics and submit the report to the
Convention. Credentials will be issued only after the delegates/alternates have
registered by payment of registration charges. No Credential Forms will be received
after 5Pm of 19th April 2014.
7.11 Each chartered club in standing in (a) the association (b) Multiple District 322
and (c) the Multiple Districts shall be represented by one or more Delegates at the
Annual Convention and shall be entitled in such Convention to one Voting Delegate
and one Alternate Delegate for each number of ten members of the club (fraction
being one–half or above to be rounded off to next higher number) as shown by the
records of the office of the said Association on the first day of the month last
preceding the month during which the Annual Convention is being held. The
selection of each such Delegate and Alternate Delegate shall be made by the Board
of Directors of the Club, notwithstanding any provision to the contrary in the
Constitution of the concerned Club and shall be evidence by a certificate signed by
both its President and secretary or any two other officers specifically so
authorized by the Board of Directors of the Club also certifying that they are
members in good standing. Each certified Delegate, or in his absence, the Alternate
Delegate present in person is entitled to cast one vote on each issue to be voted
upon by the Delegates to the said Annual Convention. Unless otherwise specified
herein, the affirmative vote of a majority of the Delegates voting on any question shall
be the act of the Annual convention.

FUNCTIONS
The Election Committee shall conduct and carry out the election and the balloting.
The Committee may co-opt representative of nominated candidates for the posts of
International Director and/or Second International Vice President. It may frame its
rules as per Lions clubs International and Multiple District 322. The Committee shall
be ready with the balloting paper and make sure that names of all Qualified
nominations/voting matter appear on the ballot Papers. The Committee will also see
that only accredited delegates exercise their voting in the election as per provision of
Multiple District Constitution. The Committee shall present its report on the
completion of election to the convention on being so desired by the Council
Chairman.

FUNCTIONS
This Committee shall frame rules and procedures for the Multiple Convention and the
same shall be prepared and got approved before the Multiple Convention
commences. Such rules and procedure so adopted before the Multiple Convention
shall be strictly followed by the Convention subject to the provision of the Constitution
& Bye-Laws of Lions Clubs International and also Multiple District 322. In the event of
any point arising not covered in such rules and procedures and / or in the constitution
& bye-laws of Lions Clubs International and also Multiple District 322, the same shall
be determined by the last edition available of Robert Rule of Order.

FUNCTIONS
This committee shall receive, analyze, revise, cancel, return, modify or redraft, if
necessary, all resolutions designed to come before the conference and may present
these to the Multiple Convention. The Resolution Committee shall receive resolutions
from the clubs of our Multiple District till 18th March 2014 and shall have authority to
decide or cancel or to present the same to the Multiple Convention.
This Committee shall also prepare and present resolutions thanking Inaugurator, the
Chief Guest, Guest of Honour, the First Citizen, International President, Officers of
the Association. Council of Governors, Press and others who have assisted in the
successful holding of the Convention. Any resolution designed to be submitted
should be sent to the Chairman and members of the Committee with a copy to the
Council Chairman. The Committee when called upon by the Council Chairman shall
present its report to the Multiple Convention.

FUNCTIONS
This Committee shall receive resolutions from the clubs of the Multiple District
suggesting changes, amendments, modifications and/or substitution of the
Constitution & Bye-Laws of Multiple District 322 before 45 days of the Multiple
Convention, and after due deliberations the Committee shall present the same to the
Multiple Convention as a report when called upon by the Council Chairman.
Resolution for amendments to the constitution & Bye-Laws should be proposed in
accordance with provisions of Article 18 of Multiple District 322 Constitution.

would certify regarding the “GOOD STANDING” and shall hand over to the Credential
Committee Chairman, by 5PM on 8th April, 2014 positively.

Credential Committee, if required for verification.
3. Incomplete, untrue or incorrect information, if any, is found in the form then the

Annual Multiple District Convention at Jamshedpur (Jharkhand) India, do
hereby solemnly declare that we shall take part in the proceedings of the
Convention as true Lions, in keeping with the Objects and Principles of Code
of Ethics and that we shall participate in the discussions and act and decide
on various matters that would come up before this convention sincerely and
faithfully giving respect to the various view points of our fellow Lions.
We further solemnly declare that we shall keep up and maintain the fair name
of the International Association of Lions Clubs and of our Multiple District
