PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
DIMENSIONS
Boiler Guard 900 combines Vapor Corrosion Inhibitor
(VCI) powder in a polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) water-soluble
bag. The powder formulation is free of phosphates,
heavy metals, nitrites, and free amines. Designed for the
dry lay-up of boilers, the Boiler Guard 900 powder
protects metals in enclosed spaces. The VCI’s vaporize
and adsorb on all metal surfaces, reaching all recessed
areas and interior cavities.

FEATURES
S Provides continuous corrosion protection during the
dry lay-up period
S Protects ferrous metals and aluminum
S Provides protection in the vapor phase (void), liquid
phase, and the interface
S Up to 24 months of protection
S Vapor phase inhibiting action protects inaccessible
and recessed surfaces
METHOD OF APPLICATION (DRY LAY-UP)*
1) Remove and discard outer bag.
2) Place Boiler Guard flat in boiler and slit bag open to
begin total corrosion protection. Slit the bag 2"
(5 cm) from one end to 2" (5 cm) from the other end.
3) Seal all openings to the boiler internals. Note that
removal is recommended, but not required, by
flushing the boiler prior to startup.
S Requires little or no surface preparation for routine
shutdown maintenance
4) When the boiler is put back in service, fill with water
and employ common startup procedure. The PVA
bag will dissolve.
S VCI layer does not need to be removed prior to
equipment startup
* For wet lay-up, ask about our Boiler Guard 911 liquid
formulation.
S Eliminates the need for other forms of protection,
including nitrogen blankets, silica gel, and hydrazine
S Reduces chemical consumption and costs
S Enables safe handling
S Biodegradable, non-toxic, and non-irritating PVA bags
S Increases worker productivity and safety
S Formulation is free of phosphate, heavy metals,
nitrites, and free amines
S Each 3.8-mL bag protects up to 1,000 gallons of
system capacity
