Information for exchange students
 All the information regarding the exchange can be found from our website:

 Documents to be sent:
o Student Application Form
o Learning Agreement
o Extract of Study Register from the home institution
o Letter of Motivation/CV (in case of practical training/thesis)
It is advisable to send the documents scanned as an email attachment/fax and by regular mail to
the responsible VAMK International Coordinator
 Application deadline for Autumn Semester (starts at the end of August) is May 15 and for Spring
Semester (starts beginning of January) is November 15.
 When the student has been accepted, we will send an Acceptance Letter together with an
information package to the address that has been provided by the student in the Application Form.
 We offer a Pick-Up Service (free of charge) for the students upon their arrival to Vaasa (when
possible). More details can be found in the information letter upon the student’s acceptance.
 Accommodation: All exchange students are advised to apply for housing from VOAS, Vaasa
Student Housing Foundation. To apply, please visit VOAS web site at http://www.voas.fi and fill in
the application form. If you need assistance, please contact [email protected] .

Information Technology
The IT undergraduate degree programme is conducted in English. All the courses are available for exchange
students. The Specialised Professional Studies include:
 Software Engineering:
 Electronics and Embedded Systems
 Telecommunications
We offer also a possibility of completing a final project/thesis or an internship at the Technobothnia
high-tech laboratory (places are limited). For more details, please contact the International Coordinator for
the School of Technology.
International Business
The International Business undergraduate degree programme is conducted in English. Exchange students
are recommended to focus on subjects from the 2nd and 3rd year level. The specialisation options are:
 International Marketing
 Foreign Trade
 International Management
 Production of Tourism Experiences
Internship places are not being offered in this programme.
Health Care and Social Services
The department of nursing offers a 20 ECTS “International Study Module in Nursing” consisting of
theoretical studies, individual project work and clinical placements. The studies can be conducted during
autumn or spring semester.
The department of social services offers in cooperation with Novia University of Applied Sciences a 21
ECTS study module. The program covers various aspects of internationally related welfare issues. The
module is usually organised during spring semester, please check the availability from the International
Coordinator for the School of Health Care and Social Services.
A limited number of internship placements for nursing and social work students are offered. Please note
the nomination deadlines: March 15 for the autumn semester, October 15 for the spring semester.
Mechanical Engineering
Energy Management module (110ECTS) is conducted in English and available for exchange students. The
module is designed for students interested in the field of future energy industry and management, and
contains courses related on renewable and clean energy technologies and their environmental demands.
