VolleyFreak Tryout letter

Dear Coaches, Parents & Players,
VolleyFreak Jr. is back!!! Stay tuned to our website for further details. We’d like to invite you to check us out and
consider joining us in our tryouts & 2015 season.
VolleyFreak Jr. Details:
 Single teams in age groups 12s - 17s competing at the Regional level; 9 player rosters per team.
 We are going to try to offer a 10s or 11s team depending on quantity, quality & age/grade of players at
tryouts. The introductory season will include 2 hour weekly practices and 4 regular tournaments & the
OVR championships (Columbus). The club fee will be $550 max (pending the number of teams)
 Each team will compete in 1 Friendship scrimmage, 5 regular tournaments, a 2-day Challenge tournament and
the OVR championships. Outside of the OVR championships (Columbus), all other tournaments will be within a
1 hour drive from Akron.
 Practices (3 hour duration) will be held on Sunday afternoons at Cuyahoga Falls HS/MS
 Club fees: $650 max (pending the number of club teams)
Tryouts:
 There is a $10 participant tryout fee at Cuyahoga Falls HS. Payment can be made at tryouts via cash or check.
 An additional $10 OVR tryout membership is required. Visit www.ovr.org/juniors/tryouts for further
information.
 Completed & signed forms (medical release form, OVR waiver and VolleyFreak resume) are required at tryouts.
Forms can be downloaded online and will also be available at the tryouts.
 During tryouts, a parent information session will be held to discuss our club and junior Olympic volleyball.
 Tryouts will be held at Cuyahoga Falls High School (2300 4th St, Cuyahoga Falls, OH 44221).

There are several good club options for developmental volleyball in the area, with elite programs requiring major
commitments of time, money and effort. We encourage you to consider VolleyFreak Jr. when evaluating your club
options. Our program is designed to provide high quality volleyball instruction within reasonable time and financial
constraints.
VolleyFreak also wants to provide developmental opportunities for those that may not be able to make the
commitments to a JO program or may not qualify for a roster spot. We will be offering a supplemental league with age
specific teams & competition and a dedicated coaching staff at a reduced cost & time investment. Further details to be
posted on our website. The VolleyFreak administration and coaching staff are committed to equipping our young ladies
with both individual and team skills, knowledge and attitude to excel at this sport. Our greater hope is that we instill a
passion for volleyball that will last for years to come. You have an open invitation to become a FREAK!!!

The Ohio Valley Region permits clubs with athletes that are in a grade of school, but do not conform to the USA
Volleyball age definition for that grade, to form grade-level teams in the Regional & American divisions of competition
that include these athletes.
