Learning and Teaching Week 2 (8th – 12th September 2014) During the week beginning Monday 19th May 2014, the Departments of Higher Education (DHE) and Technology Enhanced Learning (DTEL) hosted the first Learning & Teaching Week (LTW), which was well attended and generated a lot of enthusiasm and interest in issues relating to learning and teaching. As a result, and in response to feedback from participants, the DHE will be hosting a second LTW from Monday 8th – Friday 12th September 2014. As with the first LTW, the week will include a variety of events aimed at sharing good practice from across the institution and supporting the development of academic practice. It will be open to all members of staff, Graduate Teaching Assistants and Postgraduate Research students who are involved in teaching and the support of learning at the University of Surrey, and who would like the opportunity to develop greater understanding of their role within the learning environment. We are delighted to welcome four external contributors to LTW2: Dr Patricia Cartney (Middlesex University), Professor Karen Young (University of Wisconsin), Dr Alison James and Dr Saranne Weller (University of the Arts London) who will be facilitating sessions on topics as diverse as student progression, through to the use of Lego Serious Play.
