New rooms at Holmhurst
2014 has got off to a great
start for us in East Surrey,
culminating in the completion
of the transformation of
previously undeveloped space
in Holmhurst Medical Centre,
Redhill.
We have worked closely with
―Civils Engineering‖ to
design four purpose built
consulting rooms, a treatment
room and reception/office
space. This will allow us to
provide a greater variety of
outpatient services to the
population of the East Surrey
CCG.

As many of you may know,
with the support of
Holmhurst Medical Centre
DHC has provided
community based outpatient
services since September 2010
from this site. In response to
the increase in demand for
our services from a wider
range of practices, we have
decided to develop our own
space within the building.
This suite of new rooms is
situated on the first floor (lift
and stairway access).
At DHC we firmly believe
that many non emergency
services for patients delivered
by senior clinicians are best
placed in a community
setting. The successful
delivery of a consultant led
community service, with short
waiting times, backed up by
very positive patient surveys
and general feedback from
GPs since 2005 in Dorking
has confirmed this belief.
With this experience in mind
we are therefore pleased to
offer a similar choice of
services for the patients and
GPs of East Surrey from our
newly developed premises.
We sincerely hope that this
development demonstrates
our commitment to providing
high quality services to the
population of East Surrey.
We would like to thank Laurie
Brown, our Service
Development Manager ,for
delivering such a fantastic
facility.

DHC rebrands
On 1st April Dorking
Healthcare rebranded.
Dorking Healthcare was set
up in 2005 to serve the needs
of the Dorking population.
Due to the quality of service
we provide we have been able
to extend these services
throughout Surrey in recent
years.
Although we are rightly proud
of our Dorking ‗roots‘ this
can now cause confusion in
relation to GPs and patients
in other parts of Surrey who
assume we are running
Dorking services only and
may feel the distance is an
obstacle.
As we now have a second site
in Redhill and are looking to
provide services from other
sites in Surrey to create a
wider appeal
The layout of this new
website will enable GPs and
patients alike to review our
services in a streamlined and
user-friendly way.
To this end Dorking
Healthcare will be renamed
Although we are continually
evolving and expanding,
delivering quality healthcare
remains our absolute focus.
We have created a new logo
and identity to ensure we are
recognisable across the whole
Surrey area.
As part of this process we
have developed a new website
dhcclinical.com
We are always open to
feedback about our services
and have suggestion boxes
sited in the reception area at
both Dorking Hospital and
Holmhurst Medical Centre,
Redhill.

Delivering Quality
DHC meets quality
obligations set by CCG.
DHC is pleased to report that
we are meeting the quality
targets set for us by our
commissioners. We work to
all the clinical and
organisational standards set
out in the general acute
contract for providers, and in
addition we have our own
customised CQUIN targets
(Commissioning for Quality
& Innovation) set by Surrey
Downs CCG.
We have met all four of our

CQUIN targets for 2013-14.
These cover:
the results from the
Friends & Family
recommendation test,
which we were asked to
measure as a pilot survey in
the outpatient setting
improving the new:followup appointment ratio in
dermatology
improving the speed at
which we type up clinic
letters (now down to 3
working days on average)
improving on measures of
clinician-to-clinician
referrals
The new IAPT service has to
meet an extensive range of
quality targets that measure
clients‘ progress through the
service and their clinical
improvement. The results to
date are encouraging.
DHC was founded in 2005 with the aim of improving and expanding out
-patient services provided in the local Dorking community. Recent years
have seen us expand services throughout Surrey, operating out of 3 different
sites.
We started with 11 clinics each month. We now deliver over 300 clinics a
month covering a wide range of outpatient services, improving access to
psychological therapies (IAPT), direct access ultrasound, physiotherapy,
counselling and consultant psychiatry.
We take responsibility and pride in what we do, ensuring we provide high
quality, patient focused care throughout every aspect of our business
