EXCITED LOT: The excitement at the packed auditorium was palpable as the team of
the Clean & Clear Calcutta Times Fresh Face 2014 reached NSHM Knowledge Campus
on Thursday evening. The girls were more
excited as two of them will get a chance to
be the face of Clean & Clear. The girls, who
had come prepared for the event and were
dressed elaborately, set the stage on fire with
their latkas and jhatkas. The boys impressed with their oh-so-sweet smiles.
HOUSEFUL OF TALENT: The
enthusiasm of the participants knew no bounds as
they burnt the stage with
their attitude in the introductory round. There was
talent galore. While the
duo of Roshan and Popeye impressed with
their impeccable

B-boying coordination, Anirban Chatterjee won the crowd
over by strumming his guitar. Emcee Sidhu was the star of
the event, as many flocked to
him with requests for autographs and photographs. A shivering and blushing Kakoli Das
even took the occasion to profess
her love for the Holud pakhi
singer. If some participants took
the crowd on a melodious trip
with renditions of Hum tere bin,
Sun raha hai na tu and Tujhse
naraz nahi zindagi, Sanjukta Baidya
pepped up the mood instantly by gyrating to
Halkat jawani. Mariya Jabrot’s act to
Fevicol drew loud catcalls from the audience. In between the rounds, the students across streams and classes, put
nightclubs to shame when they danced
like there was no tomorrow, on tracks
churned out by DJ Cas.
BEST MAN WINS: Abhirup
Dutta, who impressed with his
rendition of a self-composed
number, was declared the winner
among boys. Suvojit Shome
was adjudged the first runnerup, while Puneet Thadani
clinched the second runnerup’s title. Among the girls,
Anindita Biswas was adjudged the winner
amidst shouts and
claps, while Palak Shah, who

It is an urban story of a retired lady professor,
Mohona, of Santiniketan, who bought a flat in the
city after retirement and lives alone. Her only
daughter, Parna, studies in Santiniketan’s Vishwa
Bharati and lives in a hostel. Mohona’s husband,
also a professor in Santiniketan died some years
back. Her long lost ‘friend’ of college days, now a
renowned writer, novelist Animesh Mukherjee, has
just won an award and is heading towards Delhi to
receive it. Animesh, however, has a plan in mind.
Though he is sent the to-and-fro railway tickets for
the three-days engagement, he plans to receive
the award in Delhi and fly back to city that night
itself to stay with his ‘friend’ Mohona at her place
in Kolkata for 24 hours — a dream both have
been secretly nourishing their entire life!
