PRESS RELEASE
BNP Paribas Personal Finance driving forward in the
Auto segment from Europe to Russia
Seven partnerships concluded with six car manufacturers
in four different countries in three months
Paris, 22 July 2014. BNP Paribas Personal Finance has signed seven partnerships with six
international car manufacturers Hyundai, Kia, Mitsubishi, PSA, Volvo and Kawasaki in four
countries. This achievement, accomplished in record time, demonstrates BNP Paribas Personal
Finance’s ability to implement its strategy of leading financial partner of car manufacturers in
several countries, to meet the needs of each partner and to deploy the financial tools necessary
to support their strategy, such as the management of their specific needs and local constraints.
BNP Paribas Personal Finance has forged strong links with these carmakers in Belgium, Italy, Poland
and Turkey, by bringing them a comprehensive offer encompassing point-of-sale car financing,
wholesale financing (stock financing and dedicated services) and a full captive cooperation solution. An
integral part of car sales in seven out of ten cases, car financing is not only essential, but also helps
more than ever to facilitate sales in the current sluggish economic climate.
In line with its strategy of supporting automobile market players in reaching their own goals in their
countries, BNP Paribas Personal Finance has rolled out a number of measures for global carmakers
and their distribution networks in recent months. The aim has been to create new partnerships or renew
existing ones and consolidate links:
- in Poland, BNP Paribas Personal Finance becomes the exclusive partner to the Korean group
Kia, Hyundai for retail and wholesale financing activities. The company has also concluded a
new partnership with Volvo for the provision of traditional loans within the brand's distribution
network;
- in Belgium, AlphaCredit has become Kia’s exclusive partner;
- in Turkey, TebCetelem has signed a commercial agreement with PSA (Peugeot-Citroën) and
has also become a partner to Mitsubishi;
- in Italy, Kawasaki has renewed its partnership with Findomestic.
BNP Paribas Personal Finance offers these manufacturers, according to their needs, solutions for:
- end customers, with a comprehensive offer of loans and related point-of-sale services, within the
manufacturer’s distribution network;
- distributors themselves, via a customised inventory management offering and related services wholesale financing;

carmakers, with a full captive cooperation solution through which BNP Paribas Personal Finance
takes on the responsibility of a captive finance company.
“By positioning ourselves as leading financial partner with a comprehensive offering of financing
solutions and related services, BNP Paribas Personal Finance takes up its rightful place today among
car manufacturers, distributors and end customers,” states Louis-Michel Duray, Automotive Financial
Services Director at BNP Paribas Personal Finance. “Over and above our ability to implement our
offering and thanks to BNP Paribas Group's different business lines, we are able to offer a 360°
financing and services solution. We are currently in line with our goal to reach 15 billion euros worth of
outstanding loans by 2016…" adds Duray.
“In Russia,” explains Benoît Cavelier, Key Partnerships Director at BNP Paribas Personal Finance, “the
transfer of nine partnerships with car manufacturers present in Russia to Cetelem Bank - our shared
joint venture with Sberbank - is a real success”.
Brands such as Kia, Mitsubishi, General Motors, Lada, Hyundai and Volkswagen now have access to
Cetelem Bank solutions. “This transfer from Sberbank to Cetelem Bank represents annual new business
of approximately 1.5 billion euros,” adds Cavelier.
