ACFN indicated that they are opposed to the PRM project and any development north of the Firebag River. They noted that they will consider participating in the workshop, however they do not want to be seen as doing work in support of the project. ACFN noted their concerns with river water quality and quantity as members use natural springs for drinking water. Shell indicated that we are committed to water monitoring and management and are actively engaged with CEMA. Shell also noted that no process affected water is being discharged at site. As requested by ACFN, Shell will provide a copy of the CEMA Athabaska River Groundwater Interaction report and map. McMurray. PRM discussion included: 1. Cultural Assessment Workshop; 2. Mine Planning & proposed a piezometer project; 3. an update on 2014/15 field studies; 4. Regional Study Area (RSA) Aboriginal Consultation ACFN indicated that they are concerned about the bison and their habitat. They asked about whether Shell is doing helicopter work, as band members have are upset about the activity. Shell responded that the environmental field crews did do some work over the summer months using a helicopter, in addition to other industry helicopter work in the area. Shell's field program is complete for 2014 but would will continue in 2015. Shell is engaged with the government led Bison herd working group and will continue to support these efforts. Upon review of the field studies carried out by Golder Associates in 2014, ACFN asked if the study results were compiled. Golder reponded that the results are still be compiled. ACFN requests that these results be shared with them. Shell/Golder to follow up with ACFN on this. Shell is planning a meeting with Environment Canada to discuss RSA methods for selecting spacial boundaries. Shell will engage with Aboriginal groups, including ACFN, once we seek input from the government. At the end of the meeting, ACFN provided Shell with copies of two letters they submitted to the JRP that morning with respect to Shell's methods on RSA Selection and for Cultural Assessment, and Shell's proposal to consult with Regulatory agencies on methodology for the Environmental Assessment.
