Topic: “German-Japanese Joint Business Activity: One possibility to benefit from the Globalization”
The advancing globalization offers numerous economic opportunities and chances especially for globally acting
companies. But being internationally successful is often also paralleled by the necessity to cooperate with an adequate
partner who is already operating in the target market. EagleBurgmann was the result of joining forces of a German
(Burgmann, belonging to the Freudenberg Group) and a Japanese (Eagle Industries, belonging to the Japanese NOK
Group) regional player, who both held strong positions in their respective markets of “mechanical seals” but not
globally.
With his presentation our speaker will outline the business rationale to join forces, the way of implementation, and
the discussions and issues which arise in the given German-Japanese context.
Speaker: Dr. Stefan Sacré, CEO, EagleBurgmann GmbH
Dr. Stefan Sacré is CEO of EagleBurgmann GmbH, a global leader of sealing solutions for process
industries. Before joining EagleBurgmann in 2011, he held managerial positions at Bosch Rexroth AG,
SICK AG, and the European Commission. He is a former student of the Universities in Bonn, Berlin,
and Edinburgh, he holds a PhD in engineering as well as an MBA, and he is a member of the JSPS-Club.
