They receive many hours of initial and on-going training and are available to help you with problems and questions. Our goal is to help you make a positive transition to UC Davis, meet people and assist you with academic resources. CAs can also help you and your neighbors create a positive and productive living environment. Community Assistants will organize many programs and activities throughout the year. My name is Arlyn Garcia and I'm a fourth year transfer Psychology major. I am originally from SoCal, and I enjoy going home as much as possible to spend time with my family. On my free time I enjoy baking, traveling, and watching corny romantic comedies. Back at home; I have a teacup Maltese named Bentley that I am completely obsessed with. Last year was my first year here at Davis, and I lived in SHA, so please do not hesitate to ask me about my experiences or anything regarding your first year here! I look forward to meeting all of you and being a resource as you transition to this new environment! Alex Henry - [email protected] Primero Grove Hey there, my name is Alex and I am a fifth year (Super Senior!) double major in History and International Relations. I am originally from Poway, CA, meaning I traveled all the way from Southern California to attend UC Davis and become a proud Aggie. I love bacon, Game of Thrones, and anything written by J.R.R. Tolkien. I have a passion for sports, especially soccer, and was a member of the ICA Men's Soccer Team over the past four years. I am an extremely driven person who loves the spirit of competition, and it is with this mindset that I approach the challenges and obstacles I am confronted with in every aspect of my life. My favorite part of soccer is the ability to give the "assist" and that is what I am here to do for all of you transfer students, as my goal is to assist you in any way I can in order to create an environment geared towards your success. I can't wait to get to know all of you and see you at the numerous events we will put on throughout the school year! Patrick Kim - [email protected] The Lexington Hello! My name is Patrick. I am a senior majoring Economics and I am a Community Assistant at Lexington Apartment. I came to Davis as a junior transfer from Sacramento City College, so I know how you feel as a junior transfer student! I like to play drums as I used to want to be a drummer and love to hang out with friends by just talking and talking. I also lived in Lexington for more than 4 years! So feel free to ask me any questions about the apartments or things about Davis. I look forward to getting to know you! Mackenzie Mackling - [email protected] Primero Grove Hello, I'm Mackenzie Mackling. I am excited to be a CA at Primero Grove this year! Last year I lived with SHA after transferring from the Santa Rosa Junior College, so I understand what it's like to be a transfer student here at UCD. I am a Sonoma native majoring in History with a minor in Chicana/o Studies. I am also involved with the community service based Fraternity Alpha Phi Omega, and am the Peer Minister at the Belfry Lutheran & Episcopal Ministry. My interests include history, animation, hiking, silent & classic film, reading, and musicals. I look forward to meeting and helping this year's residents! Taylor Moxon - [email protected] Primero Grove Hello I'm Taylor! I'm a 4th year International Relations student. I'm a Los Angeles Clippers and New York Jets fanatic. I also love talking about history and global politics. I'm returning from a quarter abroad in London and spent the summer traveling around Europe. Some of my other interests include watching Game of Thrones, House of Cards, and The Walking Dead as well as camping which I had extensive experience with during my time as a Boy Scout (and subsequently becoming an Eagle Scout). With my experience on campus and my time as Resident Advisor I feel I can help resolve almost any issue you may have about getting used to living in Davis or (at least direct you to someone who can). I love interacting with residents so feel free to come talk me if you have a question or if you just want to chat. I look forward to getting to know you! Meghan Riley - [email protected] Arlington Farms and The Lexington Hi! My name is Meghan. I am a fifth year double major of Psychology and Human Development. I am also a research assistant for an infant language development lab and also volunteer at a middle school helping at-risk teens. I kind of do a lot but I also like to have fun! I enjoy watching TV and movies, going out to dinners and hanging out with friends. If we have not already met, I cannot wait to meet you real soon! Good luck with your first year here at UC Davis.
