Reports
a. Chief Justice: Ariel Stone
i. Last week I mentioned to the Associate Justices to bring in their red
binders. You may store these in my cabinet. Big Show was this weekend
and I hope you all had fun. Please CC me on all emails you send out to
clubs and organizations. I did not meet with Talar due to illness but I will
keep you all updated about the recommendations to the ASJC code. Thank
you all for asking great questions during open forum.
b. Attorney General: Adan Garay
i. You have all been doing great with parliamentary procedure.
c. Senate Representative: Karissa Masmela
i. This morning we approved the Pantry Haven name change to Matador
Food Bank and we allocated $58000 to the A.S. student’s organization
support account for interpretive services. This account is available to all
clubs that need interpretive services. In Senate we discussed establishing
an honor code for the student body that will reach out to the entire
campus, we want student’s input on what it is to be a matador. I will keep
you all updated.
d. University Advisor: Jennifer Villarreal
i. We had Sports Club 101 last weekend and had about 400 attendees. I
conducted a presentation about hazing and evaluations are being
conducted now so we will be able to get feedback soon. Greek 101 will be
coming up for the new members of the Greek community on October 11th,
12th, and 19th. In terms of the MIC, we are starting to gear up for the
volunteer Aids Walk, which is on Sunday October 12th. If you’re
interested, there is a CSUN team and transportation is available. Within
the coming week clubs and organizations will be contacted who have not
yet updated their constitutions and some organizations may want to do
name changes, so be prepared for organizations seeking a name change
because this is a possibility. You’re all doing a great job!
