The department of geography and the research team Discontinuités (before DYRT) are seeking an
associate professor (Maître de Conférences) in Geography with expertise in "geographical approach of
the body" (see the detailed Job profile). This approach shall take place within the research activities of
the research team and participate in its multidimensional and reflexive perspectives on discontinuity,
and in its move to the internationalization of its activities. The person appointed will carry out a
teaching program across a range of curriculum areas, at both the undergraduate and postgraduate
levels. French proficiency is required.Research Fields : Geography

Profil pédagogique :
Version française : Le/la futur-e MCF devra contribuer au développement des formations au sein du
département de géographie. Il/Elle devra être en mesure d’assurer des cours de géographie en licence
(géographie et aménagement, histoire), en licences professionnelles (Aménagement des espaces verts,
Construction durable), ainsi que des cours de géographie en master : Master DTAE (développement
des territoires, aménagement et environnement) et, le cas échéant, Master MVP (Mise en Valeur du
patrimoine) du Département d’histoire. Le/La candidat-e sera amené-e à dispenser des enseignements
dans le cadre des formations aux concours externes et internes de l’enseignement. Les enseignements
dispensés se feront, par exemple, autour de quelques thématiques principales liées à l’aménagement, à
la géographie culturelle et à la culture générale disciplinaire nationale et internationale. Le/La
candidat-e devra montrer son aptitude à travailler en équipe. De plus, le/la candidat-e devra démontrer
une aptitude pour l’encadrement de projets de stage (L3, M1 et M2), ainsi que pour l’encadrement
pédagogique.
English Version : The future associate professor is expected to contribute to the further development of
the teaching programs of the Department of Geography. The person appointed will carry out a teaching
program across a range of curriculum areas, at both the undergraduate (Licence of geography and local
planning, Licences Professionnelles "Landscape planning" and "Sustainable construction") and
postgraduate levels (Master degree in Geography - DTAE -, Master degree in History - MVP). The
associate professor may have to deliver lectures to French competitive examinations applicants
(CAPES and Agrégation). These programms include courses on local planning, cultural geography,
general knowledge on French and foreign geographies.The candidate should be able to work in a team.
He/She also shall have educational qualities and skills to supervise apprenticeships projects (L3, M1,
M2). French proficiency is required.

Version Française : La question du corps peut être le sujet principal de la recherche du/de la candidat-e
ou bien une entrée notable de son travail. Le corps peut y être appréhendé dans ses diverses
dimensions : matérielle (corps biologique, corporalité), symbolique (image du corps, corps social et
identité), virtuelle (corporalité augmentée, corporéité, hybridité), esthétique (motricité, sensorialité,
émotionalité, affectivité), etc. Dans tous les cas, c’est l’approche géographique – par la spatialité ou
par l’espace – du corps considéré comme un objet scientifique, proposée par le candidat, qui sera
évaluée par le comité de sélection, que celui-ci/celle-ci promeuve une entrée par la pratique,
l’expérience ou la performance corporelle, l’objet corps ou son environnement (écologie humaine,
cadre de vie, etc.). Une bonne connaissance de cultures géographiques internationales, notamment
anglophones, sera appréciée.
English Version : The candidate´s research topic must encompass the issue of the body either as its
main topic or as a key entry in his/her work. He/She may address/tackle the body issue in its various
dimensions: material (biological body, corporality), aesthetic (motor function, sensory, emotionality,
affectivity), symbolic (body image, social body and identity), virtual (augmented corporality,
corporeity, hybridity), and so on. In all cases, it is the geographical approach of the body - that is to
say, spatiality or space-related -, that will be the selection committee core interest, whether the
candidate promotes a pragmatic, phenomenological, performative, an objectal or an environmental
way of thinking. A good acquaintance with the international geographical reviews and books – notably
with the English-language publications –, will be appreciated, as well as skills in writing and
communicating in foreign languages.

Version Française : Cette approche géographique du corps devra trouver sa place dans les activités de
l’EA 2468 «Discontinuités» (anciennement DYRT) venir alimenter son approche multidimensionnelle
et réflexive de la discontinuité – son objet de recherche – et participer à son effort
d’internationalisation. Ainsi, une attention particulière sera apportée par le COS à l’articulation des
problématiques de recherche du/de la candidat-e à la problématique générale de l’équipe dans laquelle
il devra inscrire ses recherches. Le/La candidat-e recruté-e devra impérativement se rattacher, à titre
principal, à l’EA 2468 « Discontinuités ».(anciennement DYRT)
English Version : This geographical approach of the body shall take place within the research activities
of the EA 2468 and participate in its multidimensional and reflexive perspectives on discontinuity, and
in its move to the internationalization of its activities. Therefore, a special attention will be given, by
the selection committee, to the way the candidate intends connecting his/her researches to the research
team´s core subject. Please note that the successful candidate will be a full member of the research
team EA 2468 "Discontinuités".(before DYRT)
