ARTIST BIO “BENCED” - ENGLISH Sven Väths legendary club "Omen" in Frankfurt was the first underground club that Benced visited. It was the year 1992, and at that time, the club's resident DJ's like Väth or DJ Dag infected him with the fascination for electronic music. More and more he felt the desire to spin himself. The first steps in 1993 were more experimental than professional. But as a "child" of the Commodore C64 and Amiga-generation, his attempts to produce music were more concrete. For the time being, the potential "newcomer-DJ" disappeared in the world of the software industry and their marketing departments as a designer until the year 2001, to finally turn his long lasting ambitions to spin and produce music into reality. The typical "Benced style" of his DJ sets, as well of his productions, ranges from minimalistic, calm to progressive and groovy, but sometimes also very hard sounds. In the summer of 2002 the contact to Tronic Empire was established. The demo set Benced sent them was well received and led to his first gigs. And at exactly one of these gigs, he met the already well-known DJ Crazy X-Ray. Crazy founded the label "Giant and Dwarf Records" in 2003 and added Benced to the booking roster of the label. In October 2004, the first release by Benced is scheduled to be published on GAD. Meanwhile more and more labels got interested. Starting in July 2004, many more releases are scheduled on well known labels like Decomplex Deluxe, Friendly Fire and Subsounds. Stay tuned for more! ARTIST BIO “BENCED” – DEUTSCH Das legendäre "Omen" in Frankfurt war der erste Underground Club, den Benced im Jahre 1992 besuchte. Die Residents, wie Sven Väth oder DJ Dag, lösten damals seine Faszination für elektronische Musik aus. Nach und nach kam der Wunsch auf selber die Plattenteller zu drehen. 1993 waren die ersten Schritte aber noch eher von experimenteller Natur. Als "Kind" der C64- und Amiga-Generation der 80er Jahre waren die ersten Versuche im Produzieren dafür schon etwas konkreter. So verschwand der "Nachwuchs-DJ in spe" erst einmal als Designer in der Welt der Softwareschmieden der New Economy und deren Marketingabteilungen um dann 2001 endlich, die vor mehr als einem halben Jahrzehnt entwickelten Ambitionen aufzulegen und Musik zu produzieren, in Taten umzuwandeln und durchzustarten. Der typische "Benced-Style" der DJ-Sets, aber auch der Produktionen, reicht von minimalistischen, ruhigen bis hin zu den progressiven, groovigen Sounds oder auch mal den sehr harten Tönen. Im Sommer 2002 kam dann der Kontakt zu Tronic Empire zustande. Das eingesandte Demo fand spontan Gefallen und führte so zu den ersten Gigs. Und genau bei einem dieser Gigs lernte Benced 2003 den damals schon etablierten DJ Crazy X-Ray kennen. 2003 gründete Crazy das Label "Giant and Dwarf Records" und nahm Benced mit in das Booking Roster des Labels auf. Im Herbst 2004 steht nun das erste Release von Benced auf GAD. Auch andere Labels sind mittlerweile aufmerksam geworden und somit stehen weitere Releases ab Juli 2004 auf namhaften Labels wie Decomplex Deluxe, Friendly Fire und Subsounds an.
