FCCLA Week starts Monday. Dress-up themes are: Mon – Sleep the day away – wear PJ’s to school. Tues – Switch it up w/ FCCLA, dress as opposite gender. Members receive ice cream at lunch. Wed – Mix it up w/ FCCLA and dress as the colors of Twister, wear tie dye and mix/match clothes. Thurs – Show your FCCLA spirit, wear your club shirt. Report to Mrs. Libbert’s room to receive your twizzler. We will have a celebration on Thurs, Feb. 12 6:00 – 10:00 PM. Life size twister will be played and party foods will be served. Pick up a permission form from Mrs. Libbert and return by Tues, Feb 10. All members are invited. We will also be sponsoring an Art Supply Drive for Wonderland Camp, which is a camp for individuals of all ages with disabilities. They are in need of art supplies and we are going to help! All members are asked to bring at least 3 art supplies to help with this. Items could include: construction paper, markers, crayons, colored pencils, scissors, coloring books, foam paper, pipe cleaners, craft sticks, glue sticks, glue for hot glue guns. Please bring new items only. All other students at Fatima, if you would like to donate art supplies for this cause, please bring them to Mrs. Libbert’s room and you will receive a sweet treat! All Students: Cookie grams are on sale before school outside of Senora’s room. Cost for each cookie gram is $3. All proceeds go to the American Heart Association. th Roses are on sale through the 12 outside of Senora’s room. See flyers posted around school. th Cookie’s and roses will be delivered 8 hr Thurs, Feb 12. Sophomores: Jostens Parent Night is today from 3:10 – 6:00. A Jostens rep will return to take orders Friday. Random Acts of Kindness Members: Our next meeting is today 3:10-4:00 in Mrs. Peters’ room. Please bring 2 dozen homemade cookies for our cookie swap. Order your 2014-15 Yearbooks now! $30. Order forms are in Mrs. Peters’ room and in the HS office. Sophomores and Juniors: If you are interested in being on the yearbook staff next year, you MUST complete an application packet. Packets are available outside Mrs. rd Peters’ room. Deadline to submit is April 3 . SPORTS State Banner Recognition: Banners for Baseball, Softball and Volleyball will be revealed between the JV/Varsity games on Fri, Feb 13. Boys Basketball: V/JV will play in the Central Bank Shootout on Saturday at Helias. Purchase tickets from any player for $8 or at the door for $10. Girls Basketball: Varsity plays Hallsville at 6:00 tonight in the Southern Boone Classic (Ashland). Championship, etc. games are Sat. Freshman games at Vienna tonight have been cancelled. Varsity travels to Tuscumbia Mon for a 6:00 tip. Wrestling: We are finished with regular season meets. Districts are Fri, Feb 13 and Sat, Feb 14. Good Luck! Golf: Those who want to play golf this spring, there is a short mandatory meeting tomorrow in the gym lobby, 8:00 AM. If you are not able to make this meeting, you need to see Coach Royston prior to Friday. Again, it is MANDATORY. GUIDANCE Junior Girls: if anyone is interested in attending Girls’ State this summer, see Mueller IMMEDIATELY. I will need names by Monday. Any student interested in taking the Clothing: Fashion and Construction course next year should fill out an application and return to Mrs. Libbert by Friday, March th 27 . You can get an application from Mrs. Libbert or in the office. Students taking classes for DUAL CREDIT: Make sure you have set up your technology portal. If you don’t have the paper telling you how to do this, see Mueller. You should get this done in the next week or two. Also, make sure you have paid for your dual credit classes. This must be done before you can enroll in another class or have your transcript sent. Remember it will take a couple of weeks for them to receive your payment, process it, and get it credited to your account. Don’t wait till the last minute! Volunteer Hours: Does anyone want or need volunteer hours? I have an opportunity for you to help unload Girl Scout cookies on Feb 16 – our scheduled day off! If interested, see Ms. Mueller for contact information. April 18 ACT: The deadline to sign up for the April ACT is March 13. June 13 ACT: The deadline to sign up for the June ACT is May 8. Test fees are $38 no writing or $54 plus writing - not all colleges require or recommend the writing test. FAFSA Night: Seniors who plan to attend a college or tech school and their parents will need to complete a FAFSA form to qualify for federal grants/loans and for most institutional scholarships and for the A+ program. On Feb 11 from 6-8 p.m. parents can use our computers to complete this form. We will have experts there to help with any problems. SENIORS Academic Awards Night is tentatively April 29. Graduation is May 10 with May 17 as the alternate date. Applications for the Random Acts of Kindness Academic Scholarship are available outside Mrs. Peters’ room for all senior members. Deadline to apply for this scholarship is st April 1 .
