It’s Tax Time Again
Tax letters for 2014 have been mailed to all parishioners, who
have made contributions to the Church. If
you have any discrepancies, please notify a
Finance Council Member. For your convenience, the members of each Finance Council
are listed below.
To reduce the possibility of error, please
use your offertory envelopes provided by the
Church, and pay by check, whenever possible.
Anyone who donated more than $250 to either the DLA and/or
the TCTH Capital Campaign will receive a separate tax letter
from the Diocese of Greensburg. Any donations to either of
these diocesan campaigns will not appear on the tax letter from
the parish.

World Marriage Day
World Marriage Day will be celebrated on Sunday, February 15, after the 11:30 AM Mass at St.
Mary’s Church. Couples from either parish, who have celebrated a milestone anniversary in 2014, (1st, 5th, 10th, 15th, etc. up

Hoagie Sale
MQA Boy Scout Troop 390 is selling hoagies after each Mass
this weekend. Please be generous in your support of their

Young Adult Fellowship
Due to the Super Bowl, the regional young adult group will
gather for their next faithsharing session on Sunday, February
1, at 1:00 PM in the Freude Room at St. Margaret Mary Church.
Please note the change in time! Young adults ages 18-35 are
welcome to join us! Come and rekindle old friendships or start
new ones.
Share the Word Bible Study
Share the Word Adult Bible Study meets on
Monday afternoons at St. Mary Parish from 1:00
PM-3:00 PM in the Religion Center. All are welcome to join us
as we read and discuss the upcoming Sunday Mass readings.
If you need a Bible, one will be provided. Registration is not necessary. Next session: February 2
God does not demand moral perfection before you can be of
worthy service. God asks for a loving heart and a willingness to
stick with your commitment.

The next meeting of the St. Joseph St. Vincent de Paul Society will be held on Tuesday, February 3, at 2:00 PM, in the

February Food Pantry Help
The St. Joseph Parish food pantry is in need of extra manpower this week. The truck will need to be unloaded on Friday, February 6, beginning at 8:30 AM in the MQA parking
lot. Packing and distribution begins at 7:30 AM on Saturday,
February 7, in the MQA Cafeteria. All help is greatly appreciated.
Lenten Pierogi Sale
St. Mary Christian Mothers will be selling pierogi on Sunday,
February 15, after all Masses. Price is $9.00 per dozen. Quantities are limited.
Mass & Candle Intentions 2015
St. Joseph Parish and St. Mary Parish are now accepting
2015 Mass intentions. The suggested Mass intention stipend
is $10. St. Joseph Parish is also accepting Sanctuary and St.
Joseph candle intentions. The suggested stipend for the
Sanctuary candle, which burns for two weeks, is $20. The
suggested stipend for the St. Joseph candle, which burns for
one week, is $10. Contact your respective parish office to
schedule one of these spiritual tributes for your loved ones.
Blood Replenishment Drive for Bella
The Allegheny Mohawk Girl Scout Service Unit and Mount St.
Peter Church are co-sponsoring a blood replenishment drive for Bella Carabin Lindgren
on Sunday, February 1, from 9:30 AM-3:30
PM in Marble Hall. Child care for those donating will be provided by the Girl Scouts.
Bella is currently fighting cancer for the second time, and we need to rally around this incredibly brave 9
year old and her family. Many people have donated platelets for
Bella, but she needs additional blood transfusions.
Please find it in your heart to give the gift of life.
AED Training
St. Mary Church has received a partial grant from the Ira &
Francis Wood Trust to purchase an AED (Automated External
Defibrillator). An AED is a portable electronic device that helps
to administer real CPR. We are asking for volunteers, who attend both Masses, to attend a training session. No medical or
CPR experience is necessary. Please write your name and time
you are able to attend on the sign-up sheet in the back of the
church or call Stephanie at 724-337-6412, ext. 12.
Attention All St. Joseph Cookie Bakers!
We asked and the parishioners of St. Joseph Church have responded! The St. Joseph monthly cookie sale will resume on the
weekend of February 7 & 8. If you have
signed up to bake or sell, you should have
received information regarding the sale.

Last Chance - Homemade Wedding Soup Sale
This weekend is the final opportunity to order
quarts of homemade wedding soup being sold by the
youth to help defray the cost of their trip to Steubenville. Soup will be frozen, to be used when you need it, and
ready for pickup on February 8. This would be a great gift for a
homebound person. Orders can be placed in the collection basket or by mail or phone to Debby at the Religion Center. Please
use the order form below. Cost is $7.00 per quart and will be
prepared through the kindness and expertise of Debbi and Albert Askin.

9th Grade Visit Day at Greensburg Central Catholic
All current 8th grade students are welcome to participate in
this event on Wednesday, February 4, from 9:30 AM to 1:30
PM. Students will meet other prospective students and attend
classes in English, Performing and Visual Arts, German,
French, Spanish, Religion and Science.

Bishop Brandt to Host Book Signing
Bishop Lawrence E. Brandt, along with the authors Dr. Joseph F. Rishel and his wife, Helen K. Rishel, M.A., will host a
book signing of “A Holy Dwelling Place: The History of Blessed
Sacrament Cathedral on Sunday, February 8, from 2:00 PM4:00 PM in the Indiana Room at the Bishop William G. Connare Center. Light refreshments will be served and docents
will be available to lead tours of the Diocesan Heritage Center.
Copies of the full-color, 168-page, hardcover book will be
available at $31.50 plus tax. The book traces the history of the
Catholic community in Greensburg from the late 1700s to the
establishment of Most Holy Sacrament Parish in 1847, to the
construction of the current church building in the 1920s. The
renovations following the Second Vatican Council and the restoration project, which began in 2010, are discussed in detail.
The book also features photos and descriptions of the many
stain glassed windows in the Cathedral along with explanations
of the recent restorations.
In addition to the book, resin replicas of Blessed Sacrament
Cathedral will be available for purchase at $20 each.
