Crossman HTP REQUIREMENT: TAKE THE HONORS SECTION LISTED ON THIS PAGE Honors students must complete at least one honors course each regular semester (fall and spring). Students are not required to complete honors courses in summer session, but if they do, these will count toward the required minimum of five honors courses. Students should consult with a counselor to ensure that they take the appropriate courses for their major and transfer institution. NOTE: The total of five required honors courses may include only two courses in the same department and only three courses in the same IGETC area. For example, all Natural Sciences are in IGETC area 5, so the HTP will not count more than three STEM courses. The same applies to the Social Sciences, which are in IGETC area 4 (Economics, Geography, History, Political Science, Psychology 5, and Sociology). Everyone should have a copy of the orange IGETC handout available in the Counseling Division.
