Two Funerary Cones of Padineith Found in the Theban Tomb MMA 1152
This article is an Egyptological study of two funerary cones of the otherwise well known
Theban official of the Twenty-sixth Dynasty, Padineith, majordomo of the Divine Consorts of
Amun, who was buried in the tomb TT 197 on the Asasif cemetery. These two cones,
however, were found in the structures of another Theban Tomb – MMA 1152 – turned into a
hermitage by Christian monks – among objects, obviously brought back from peregrinations
of these men all over through the Theban West Bank, most probably with intention to use
them for some other secondary purpose.
