Sponsorship & Contribution Packages
July 18-25, 2015 Kalamazoo, Michigan
The principles of disc golf are not unlike its older cousin,
ball golf. Disc golf entails traditional ball golf rules with a twist:
aerodynamic discs specifically designed to fly straight, left, and
right. The discs are designed to fly as uniquely as the holes of the
course. However, it takes more than a disc to become World
Champion; it takes dedication, practice, commitment, and love
for the sport to get to this level.
Disc golf came into its own in the mid 1970's and has grown
ever since. With a growth rate of 20% per year, people of many diverse backgrounds are attracted to
disc golf for several reasons. Some will say disc golf provides great exercise, some say it keeps them
mentally sharp, others boast the tremendous joy they feel when body and mind coincide to create the
perfect shot. All participants will tell you that disc golf is a sport for the ages.
With over 2,000 courses to choose throughout the United States and over 200 in Michigan, it only
seems natural that disc golf participation is on the rise. It uses a fraction of the land traditional ball golf
courses use and the creativity of course designs are second to none. Most courses are on public land
and free to play, so disc golfers only need to invest a few dollars in equipment and they are off to give
disc golf a try.
The governing body of disc golf, The Professional Disc Golf Association (PDGA, www.PDGA.com),
has created the World Championships to determine the best of the best from around the world.
Participants at the event will come from nearly every state and several different countries. The site of
the 2015 PDGA Amateur Disc Golf World Championships has been awarded to Kalamazoo, MI, for its
world-class courses and dedication to the sport of disc golf. Kalamazoo has hosted the Pro and
Amateur World Championships in 2008 and had the second largest disc golf event in history with
nearly 900 competitors. Larry LaBond, the Worlds Tournament Director, and his dedicated and
experienced staff are proud to host the event that will be the premier stop on the National Tour in
2015 for all amateur players.
Our goal is to showcase Kalamazoo area disc golf courses and present the most challenging, most
rewarding Worlds event to date. Our secondary goal is showing off the Kalamazoo Area as a fun and
enjoyable place to come and visit. We are planning to use 8 different courses to host more than 700
competitors in the Kalamazoo and surrounding areas for a week long competition.
With generous sponsorship from you, we will be able to uphold expectations, showcase
products and services, and make this event the best in disc golf history. The City of Kalamazoo has
come aboard and we are working closely with Discover Kalamazoo to host a great event. We believe
that this singular event will lead to thousands of visitors, not only for this event, but before the event
happens as players come to practice, and for years to come to play the courses again. We are crowning
World Champions in our backyard, and encourage you to join. Well over $1,000,000 of revenue flows
into host cities. Sponsoring our event is also sponsoring the local community. Players and their families
will spend money coming and staying here as we will be spending a lot of money with local businesses

just to host the event. Trophies, food, hotel rooms, equipment rentals, park fees, venues for activities,
printing, landscaping supplies, and entertainment are just a few ways the money will stay local.
World’s will bring income to area businesses for many years by making Kalamazoo known to be a hotbed for disc golf and general travel as players will come back to replay our courses for fun and for
future events.
Please take the time to consider one of the many contribution levels, from Platinum Sponsor to
Player/Spectator’s Guide advertising. Our expert sponsorship team is delighted to work with you to
show you how you can contribute and explain the benefits of your gift. If you are interested in a
custom designed sponsorship option not included in the following information, please contact us to
discuss the possibilities. We are flexible and want to suit your needs and will work hard to develop a
plan that will suit the needs of both parties. Please act fast to sponsor this epic event and one of the
fastest growing sports as some items are limited in availability.
Thank you for your consideration in this venture.
Sincerely,
Larry LaBond

Course Improvement Contributor
Creating and maintaining “World Class” disc golf courses is hard work. Our goal is to leave a lasting mark in the
communities and in the memories of the disc golfers that travel to the area. Our vision is to provide beautiful,
well-manicured courses that will be used for years to come. To achieve this goal, new courses need to be
installed and existing courses need to be improved. This is where your money or services will be most
important. We need landscaping equipment, volunteers, benches, construction materials, and landscaping
materials, to name a few things. We are happy to take your donations of money, labor, and/or equipment for
this task. Our sponsorship team is eager to meet with you to see how all of our needs can be met. For your
help in getting our courses ready, you receive:
 Special recognition at the course during the tournament
 Recognition on the tournament website and the player/spectator’s guide alongside the information of
that course
 You also may end up getting recognition that will last at the course long after the event is over to be
seen by thousands of future players

Player’s Party Sponsor
Each year, one location is selected as “The Destination” at the World Championships. Our player’s parties have
been talked about for years for the good times, good libations, and good vibes.
After strenuous rounds of golf, our players will want to unwind and talk about
the day’s events with other disc golfers from around the world. Music,
camaraderie, and fun will be had by all. Sometimes these events become the
most memorable part of the Worlds (especially if your play isn’t going so well).
The player’s party is also where the people in the community have an
opportunity to meet and mingle with the players. Our sponsorship team would
love to discuss with you the many different possibilities of sponsoring and
promoting your business. There are several possibilities and options with this
event!
Restaurant Sponsors
Everyone needs to eat and with over 700 disc golfers, friends, family, and officials in town for the Worlds, they
will need somewhere to go. Why leave it to chance that an out-of-towner will find your establishment? Your
restaurant can be seen by the masses with your donation. We have two choices that our friends in the food
service industry are advised to take:
 Restaurants willing to donate goods and services to the disc golfers and families during the worlds will
meet with our sponsorship team to determine how you would like to be represented. Our goal is for host
restaurants to be utilized and swarmed by participants and friends during the week of the event. Discounts
for players and staff, donations of gift certificates or coupons for the player’s packages, and/or feeding our
volunteers are great ideas for donations.
 Monetary donations will be accepted and your restaurant will be listed in the player/spectator’s guide and
official website with links to your webpage. As well as an advertisement in the player/spectator’s guide.
Additionally, those willing to contribute more will receive special recognition in a course map, directing
players from one course to another. Your establishment will be highlighted on the map as a great
supporter of disc golf and will surely drive business in your door.
Our sponsorship team is happy to talk with you to help plan your role in the 2015 World Championships.
Beverage Sponsors
Hydration is key both during and after the day’s rounds. We seek beverage suppliers
on both the day and evening activities. Being a beverage sponsor can get your name
and/or product into over 700 disc golfers’ hands repeatedly throughout the week.
Please contact our sponsorship team for more information of how we can guarantee
your company’s highest exposure by donating either the beverages or the money to
buy beverages for the players at all or some of the courses.

Player/Spectator’s Guide Book Advertising
The Player/Spectator’s Guide book is essential for our competitors and spectators to get information about
events, the schedule, directions from course to course, find lodging, restaurants, and businesses they can use,
not only for their stay in the area, but for many return trips! These guides are not only used locally, but turnup all over the country and are held onto as mementos for many years. All ads feature your company’s design,
logos, and messages! Show your support for traveling disc golfers and their needs by donating to the guide.

Many of our sponsorship items list hanging your banners. While many of our sponsors have pre-designed
banners, there are others that do not. If you would like us to create a banner(s) for you for use at our event,
we can do that. Prices will vary depending on the size, quality, and quantity of banners that you may want.
When our event is over, we would then give you the banner(s) for future use. Please contact our sponsorship
team to discuss the options to create a banner for you.
We also have the opportunity for your banner to be hung at a course, any of our events, or a combination of
locations. Please contact our sponsorship team to discuss where you would like to have your banner and what
the cost would be.
