Introduction of PAL® Conference Staff
Keynote: Tory Gant, True Riches
The greatest currency on the face of this earth is the
human life. When we mentor others we understand their
gold and the relationship that is built will cause that gold
to shine for the rest of their lives. What PAL® groups do
daily helps determine what people can become
permanently. Our PAL® ingredient will create shine that
lasts forever.

Make Red Ribbon Week Fun and a Success RM D105 Wimberley High School PAL®s
Wimberley High School PAL®s present how every year they make Red
Ribbon Week more successful. 2014 was their finest year with Red Ribbon
Week and student involvement. It was fun and informative. We will show
how each day students looked forward to coming to school and got involved
along side the PAL®S to better their school and community. With
decorations, daily dress up themes, fundraiser items, donations, prizes, and
student activities you will get successful ideas that work.
Real Life on Real Campuses
RM D115
Manor High School PAL®s
“Real Life on Real Campuses”- this workshop is an in-depth look at the real
issues students are facing in today’s schools. We will explore teen pregnancy,
abuse, and the signs of a healthy relationship. Students will leave with helpful
information for positive results.
Ghost Stories
Akins High School PAL®s
RM D117 (H. School)
RM D118 (M. School)
RM D109 (Elementary)
This workshop will explore the effects of ghost stories at the elementary,
middle school, and high school levels and how youth at each stage of
development deal with ghost stories differently. One session will focus on
high school ghost stories, one room on elementary ghost stories, and one
room on middle school ghost stories.
Perspectives on Poverty and Homelessness
RM D121
Pflugerville High School PAL®s
Many young Americans believe poverty and homelessness is not a prevalent
issue because often times it is "hidden." Attendees will explore the myths
and facts surrounding poverty and homelessness and discuss ways to support
PALees and peers who may be struggling with these conditions.
To See the Change, Be the Change
RM D120
John H. Reagan High School PAL®s
Students will conduct a session on best practices in service learning. They will
showcase their own personal projects, including brainstorming, action steps,
and problems and outcomes of their projects. They will teach peer assistance
and leadership skills. They will do project planning and identify the elements
that are necessary for a successful project.
