7 February – 22 March 2015 HSC INTENSIVE WORKSHOPS IN 2015 While ARTEXPRESS is at Hazelhurst students can develop skills and explore new expressive forms, by enrolling in a program designed for senior secondary students to extend their art practice and develop their Body of Work. LIFE DRAWING with MICHELLE CAWTHORN A short lecture on contemporary drawing practice followed by a session with the undraped model, which will focus on how to translate new knowledge into your HSC body of work. Sunday 1 March, 10am to 4pm Fee: $77 (max 15), includes model fee Students must be over 16 years and have signed parental permission. BODY OF WORK with MELISSA KENDRICK Generate ideas for your body of work by combining concepts and art making practice. Sunday 8 March, 10am to 4pm Fee: $70, all materials supplied PHOTOGRAPHY & PHOTO MEDIA with TOM HUNGERFORD Explore creative photography and manipulate your images with Photoshop through collage, colouring and layering. Learn to use your camera as an artistic tool through the use of composition, lighting and angles. Sunday 8 March, 10am to 4pm Fee: $73.50, maximum 8 places PAINTING FACES IN WATERCOLOUR with ZUZA ZOCHOWSKI Develop painting techniques in watercolour to create your own work depicting a face. Sunday 15 March, 10am to 4pm Fee: $63 WORKING IN MIXED MEDIA with LOUISA CHIRCOP This mixed media workshop will explore developing an image or idea working in a variety of materials. The focus is experimentally based with an emphasis on practical techniques to help consolidate images. Sunday 22 March, 10am to 4pm Fee: $70, some materials supplied DIGITAL VIDEO FOR ARTISTS AND TEACHERS with JOHN A DOUGLAS This intensive two day introductory workshop will aid both artists and teachers in the techniques of HD digital video production working with your DSLR camera. This course is for beginners; however a knowledge of digital photography would be an advantage.
