Habari za Chimala
Like I said a couple of weeks ago, we do
not know what tomorrow brings. I
mentioned in last week’s article that we
were going to the mountain property last
week. We started there and realized that
the Land Rover needed fuel. So, I stopped
at one station and they did not have any. I
went to the other station (Chimala only has
two), and guess what, they were out also.
Welcome back to Tanzania. So, Jim never
made it up there. We do hope to go up this
week after Bob Wheeler arrives.
Last Sunday was a great day. We went the
mission congregation and I got the
opportunity to preach. They had a good
crowd and the singing was great. After
services there were eight baptisms. We
walked down to Chad’s house to do the
baptisms. I will have some pictures in the
next newsletter.
(214) 906-6452 The reason we went to Chad’s house was
(817) 319-7936
(817) 657-0356 because the church building did not have
(817) 781-3334 enough water to fill the baptistery. The
Evangelist
reason they did not have enough water to
Dr. Bill Keele (817) 713-4865
fill the baptistery is because we are still
Family Involvement Minister
having water problems at the mission. Jim
Randy Carroll (817) 832-5671
and I both have worked on this along with
Administrative Assistant
several of the mission employees. We
Cimmarron Davis (817) 465-6500
believe that we may need some new parts.

We do have some new flappers coming and
Member Care Coordinator
Vicki Hamilton (817) 233-9300
we may have to wait until the container

arrives.

I am writing this article at the airport on our

way to do church registration. Hopefully we

will have that completed and be back at the
Chimala Administrative Assistants
mission on Friday. The last two weeks of
Carolyn Herring & Karen Grimes

our stay will be busy. Hope to see all of you

soon.

Dear church family at NYA,
We are so thankful to have been a
part of this congregation for the
past year and a half. We are
saddened to say that we’ll be
moving to Grapevine, but won’t
forget you all, and the love that
you’ve shown to us. We will always
hold a special place in our hearts
for our NYA family. Continue to
pray for us as we will you also. Our
new address is
4505 Amesbury Circle,
Grapevine, TX 76051-4460.

THIS IS THE WEEK!

This is probably the best week to be inviting your
friends and neighbors to the “How We Got the Bible”
Seminar. It is not so far away in time that they could
easily forget, nor is it so close at hand that they are
unable to make plans.

Contribution
So, take several of the small cards with you and
pass them out. The best kind of invitation is a personal
invitation. I will be handing out the little cards to my
neighbors this week and urging them to take advantage
of this great opportunity. If each family would take a
few, we could easily use all one thousand before this
coming Wednesday evening.

of the church that meets at 5371 New York Avenue.
The church grows when each part does its work.
5:30 P.M. Service
JOY AND SORROW.
Congratulations to Dr. Jennifer Gray on being
appointed Associate Dean over the nursing program at
Oklahoma Christian University. She is to begin her work
there in June. On the other hand, Randy has tendered
his resignation as an elder dependent on the events
that will have to accompany their move.
So, on the other hand, sorrow to lose this couple
and their wonderful contribution to the work of the
Lord here at New York Avenue. However, we pray for
them God’s best, for life brings changes to us all.
