Welcome to the Family!!
Anticipation. We've all felt it.
We all know what it is. It really
doesn't pay to fight it. The pull
is getting more and more
stronger with every day of
extended daylight. Much like
geese that begin to fly south,
we BIKERS all wait impatiently
for the first available riding
weather. The chance to again
make memories that will last a
life time. The chance to meet
people that have the same
passion and fire for the sport as
we do. The chance to rush home
from work knowing that we'll
be able to hop on our ride and
let 'er rip. The chance to feel the
Harley rumble underneath us as
it climbs a hill and takes the
lead position, leaving the cage
owners behind in a jealous
stupor. But wait, is chance the
correct word here? Should I be
using "choice"?
I would like to thank everyone
who contributed to all HOG
events this winter. Without the
"flocking" of all HOGs, we
bikers are just a single HOG
riding down an asphalt jungle.
Please keep in your thoughts
and prayers the injured and ill
HOGs of our club.
Thanks for your time, see you at
the next HOG meeting.
Your HOG Director,
Ken Seubert,
January Meeting
Minutes
The January meeting of the
Indianhead Chapter Harley
Owners Group was brought to
order at 6:33 pm by Director
Ken Seubert at Sport Motors
H.D. in Lake Hallie.
Old Business
Sam Crawford gave the group
an update on Rich Peloquin’s
medical conditions. He has a
rare blood disease that only 1
person in 35,000 has. His lung
problems seem to be getting
better as of late. He appreciates
visitors but just be sure you’re
not contagious with a cold or flu
virus. They are working to get
him off of oxygen and once this
happens they can start to think
about bringing him home.
New Business
Ken read two Thank-you cards
the club received, one from
Cheryl & Frank Akey and
another from Anna Anton.
We had a demonstration on the
different types of motorcycle
headlights that are available
today. Tim from the parts
department turned on the lights
of 3 different bikes and Roy
opened the South door and we
could see the headlights shining
on the next building. The
L.E.D. lights out-shined the
others by quite a bit. If you
have more questions regarding
these different types of lights
and pricing of them contact Tim
in the parts department at Sport
Motors.
The charity donation for 2014
was asked about, it was decided
at a prior meeting that we will
donate $500 to the group that
provides a noon meal to the less
fortunate in Eau Claire.
The annual Soup Cook-off is
scheduled for Saturday April
11th starting at 11:00 am and
ending at 1:00 pm. Soup entries
should be at Sport Motors by
10:30 am so there is enough
time to set up the event.
Roy G. mentioned that Road
Captain Al Marquardt, Director
Ken S. and himself will have a
preliminary meeting regarding
the Wednesday night rides.
Questions about meeting places
for the Wednesday night rides
were discussed and then tabled
until road construction issues
are better known in the spring.
Destinations will be coordinated
with the departure meeting
places as best as can be.
June 4th, 5th, and 6th will be the
Spring Open House at Sport
Motors Harley Davidson. Last
year the weather was terrible on
Saturday of the event, but things
were moved indoors and they
made it work out anyway.
Sue Schaefer has the club’s
summer picnic booked at
Riverview Park. The date is
July 8th and it begins at 6:00pm.
Advance reservations are
required and a form for this will
be included in a later newsletter.
Sue S. also thanked everyone
who helped out with the Pay It
Forward Christmas Breakfast.
It was a huge success due to the
work of the many volunteers.
Special thanks to Chuck &
Cheri Case who managed the
event this year.
Meeting was adjourned at
7:14pm.
Respectfully Submitted,
Brad Brenner,
Secretary
