DANCE...
Line Dance (Beginner) … Mondays. 7-8:30pm. Watch for beginning date December through March. Village
Ballroom. Newcomers are welcome at any time as the most popular line dance, the Electric Slide, is taught and
re-taught. The Cupid Shuffle, an easy line dance that is played in the courtyard is part of the program (usually
done before 7pm as a warm up). We’ll learn another easy line dance. This is a good way to get started in line
dancing. It’s a fun way to feel part of a group. You can really get in the spirit of a party when you’re dancing
in sync. Dancing is an excellent form of exercise because it not only burns calories and builds muscles, but it
also contributes to an overall sense of happiness. Of course, all exercise releases endorphins, but dancing has
an increased effect in this realm because it’s not only the physical activity, but also the music, that affect the
mind. It goes a long way in improving memory skills, as well.

Line Dance (Advanced) … Tuesdays. 7-9pm. November through March. Village Ballroom. We teach line

Bill Medley - “The Righteous Brothers”
William “Bill” Thomas Medley is a native Californian. Born September 19, 1940
in Los Angeles, Bill grew up and went to school in nearby Santa Ana. For as
long as he can remember his objective in life has been music. He sang in
Presbyterian choirs and high school glee clubs and entered amateur contests.
Bill’s influence came from his father who led a band and played sax and his
mother played piano and sang. His lack of formal musical education didn't stop
Bill from becoming the Righteous Brothers first songwriter writing songs
(including their first hit "Little Latin Lupe Lu") and becoming their record
producer. Bill's early influences include Roy Hamilton, Tony Bennett, Ray
Charles and Bobby Bland. Bill had his own group "The Paramours" in 1961
when he was introduced to Bobby Hatfield who had his own group "The Variations." After singing together one night they
decided to combine groups and form what would become "The Righteous Brothers," As well as having a career with The
Righteous Brothers, Bill Medley has had a successful career as a solo artist recording 14 albums including Grammy award
winning Dirty Dancing, Bill now resides in Newport Beach, California with his wife and daughter.

The Little River Band
Little River Band was formed in Melbourne, Australia in 1975. It was originally a
blend of musicians who had enjoyed success in other Australian acts. Their
new focus was to get airplay on American radio, and they achieved that goal
with good songwriting, powerful vocals, and guitar harmonies. They
immediately claimed their place as one of the great vocal bands of the
70’s...and the 80’s.
Between 1976 and 1983, chart success in America includes the following
singles: It’s a Long Way There, Help Is on it’s Way, Happy Anniversary,
Reminiscing, Lady, Cool Change, Lonesome Loser, The Night Owls, Take It
Easy On Me, Man On Your Mind, We Two, and The Other Guy.
The current lineup brings new energy and arrangements to the classic hits,
making new memories for the audience out of each live performance.
It’s always fun to watch as people are swept up by the show’s vitality and the volume of hits from LRB’s history. You’ll see
plenty of people mouthing the words…”I love this song...I forgot it was one of Little River Band’s hits!”
