Studentische/Wissenschaftliche Hilfskraft

 The Department of Economic and Technological Change (ZEF b) of the Center for Development Research, University of Bonn (Prof. Joachim von Braun) invites applications for the position Student/Research Assistant (Studentische/Wissenschaftliche Hilfskraft) 15/19 hours per week The student/research assistant (RA) will work in a team of ZEF researchers engaged in the project related with water, sanitation, hygiene and health nexus as well as impact of price volatility on nutrition and health. The RA will be mainly responsible for preparing and compiling datasets derived from large household surveys such as Demographic and Health Survey (DHS), Multiple Indicator Cluster Survey (MICS) UNICEF, and other household surveys data in developing countries. Requirements: 
Master’s degree or equivalent or Bachelor’s degree in economics, agricultural economics/sciences, environmental and resource economics, nutrition, or related field 
Excellent knowledge of STATA (programming and statistical analysis) 
Experience as a research assistant analyzing large household survey datasets (cleaning, running checks to spot errors, and preparing data for analysis) 
Excellent oral and written English 
Advanced quantitative skills (econometrics and/or statistics) 
Intellectual flexibility, good organizational skills and team spirit 
Empirical and theoretical knowledge of food and nutrition security and health issues is an advantage. This appointment is a 6 months position, starting in July 2014.
