TRAINING AND ASSESSMENT
(VERSION 5)
Overview
The Advanced Certificate in Training and Assessment (ACTA) Version 5 is targeted at preparing adult educators to take
on the roles of trainers for small group facilitation, and assessors. Topics related to instructional design and assessment
development for the developer’s role from the previous version have been excluded for the revised curriculum.
On completion of the curriculum you will be equipped with knowledge and skills to:

Apply the Singapore WSQ System for training and development of the workforce.
o
Design and facilitate a learning experience for adult learners to achieve specific learning outcomes.
o
Conduct competency-based assessments for adult learners.
o
Adopt technologies for training and assessment, where applicable.
o
Develop professionally as an adult educator through reflection.
The curriculum in STADA is delivered as 3 integrated courses to provide emphasis for peer learning and personal reflection
to promote continuous professional development.

Entry Criteria

Possess a pass in the English language at G.C.E. ‘O’ Level, or workplace literacy skills at
proficiency equivalent to level 6 and above of the Employability Skills WSQ framework.
Be keen to facilitate learning and assess adult learners in an array of learning settings such
as classroom, workplace and blended learning contexts.
Possess appropriate subject matter and industry experience relevant for design, facilitation
and assessment of learning.
Possess basic information and communication technology (ICT) skills.

Participants will be awarded with individual Statements of Attainment (SOA) upon successful completion of each integrated
course.
Upon attaining all 6 SOAs, participants will be issued the Advanced Certificate in Training and Assessment, a vocational
qualification to serve as WSQ Trainers and Assessors.

Eligibility Criteria for 1 (i) & (ii):
Participant must be sponsored by organisation and is a direct employee.
Participant must be either Singaporean/ PR.
Organisation must be registered in Singapore and register for a WDA SkillsConnect account at www.skillsconnect.gov.sg.
Organisation must submit funding application for Course Fee Support/ Absentee Payroll via the SkillsConnect system 30 days from course
commencement.
STADA is not liable if applicant fails to meet at least 75% attendance, does not complete the assessment or project, or for any other reason where
Course Fee Support/ Absentee Payroll funding is not submitted or approved. In this case, we will unfortunately have to, under WDA's regulation,
charge your organisation the full fee for each participant.

For Singaporeans awarded WSQ Certificate for the first time
From 1 March 2011, Singaporeans who successfully complete and are awarded a WSQ Certificate/Higher Certificate/Advanced Certificate or a part-time
NITEC/Higher NITEC for the first time would be eligible for a CET Qualification Award (CQA) of $200.
