RECORD OF PRECEEDINGS MINUTES OF WEST MUSKINGUM BOARD OF EDUCATION REGULAR MEETING AUGUST 20, 2014 ROLL CALL The West Muskingum Board of Education held its regular meeting on August 20, 2014 at 6:00 p.m. in the West Muskingum Middle School library. President Dierkes called the meeting to order with the following members answering roll call: Mr. Ankrum, present; Mr. Dierkes, present; Mrs. Gutridge, present; Mr. Jeffers, present; Ms. Kalis, present; student representative Luke Imes, present; student representative Parker Cordial, absent. Everyone participated in the pledge to the American Flag. ELEMENTARY CONSTRUCTION UPDATE Superintendent Harbron updated the Board regarding the continuing design phase of the new elementary building project. Building committee meeting minutes were presented. WEST MUSKINGUM ANNUAL REPORT 2013-2014 The West Muskingum Local School District‘s Annual Report for 2013-2014 was presented and discussed. SUMMER SCHOOL PROGRAM UPDATE Summer school program coordinator Beth Carpenter presented a brief narrative report on Summer School 2014. RECORD OF PRECEEDINGS MINUTES OF WEST MUSKINGUM BOARD OF EDUCATION REGULAR MEETING AUGUST 20, 2014 WEST MUSKINGUM MASTER PLAN FOR 2014-2015 The Master Plan for 2014-2015 was presented to the Board by Dr. Harbron for its first reading. The twelve sections of the plan will act as a guide for the work of the district for the 2014-2015 school year. The Board will vote to adopt the Master Plan at the regular September board meeting. 35-024 BUS ROUTES Motion made by Mr. Ankrum, seconded by Mrs. Gutridge to approve the 2014-2015 bus routes as presented. Motion carried 35-029 CELEBRATION OF ROBERTA HOWARD Motion made by Mrs. Gutridge, seconded by Ms. Kalis to approve the following: RESOLUTION TO CELEBRATE & RECOGNIZE THE SERVICE OF ROBERTA HOWARD TO THE WEST MUSKINGUM LOCAL SCHOOL DISTRICT RECORD OF PRECEEDINGS MINUTES OF WEST MUSKINGUM BOARD OF EDUCATION REGULAR MEETING AUGUST 20, 2014 Whereas, a key priority for the Board of the West Muskingum Local School District is to conscientiously recognize and honor the significant contributions of administration, faculty and staff serving in the District. One element of pursuing this priority is communicating to employees that their service and dedication to the West Muskingum Local School District is valued and appreciated; Whereas, one opportunity to engage in such communication is when an administrator, faculty, or staff demonstrates a high quality of dedication and service to the West Muskingum Local School District and makes a significant contribution to the success of the District; Whereas, Roberta Howard has had a long and productive educational career serving as a teacher and curriculum director with the West Muskingum Local School District, and has made a significant contribution to the success of many students and to the overall success of the West Muskingum Local School District; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Education for the West Muskingum Local School District this 20th day of August 2014 will dedicate the 2014-15 learning work and efforts of the administrators, faculty, and staff in the continual pursuit of improving the quality and effectiveness of the District for the benefit of all students in honor and celebration of Roberta Howard’s service, dedication, and contribution to the West Muskingum Local School District.
