He is currently a professor of history and international relations at VMI. He has a doctorate in Diplomatic and Strategic History from University of Pennsylvania. Casey served in Vietnam and as a special assistant to the Supreme Allied Commander in Europe and the Army Aide to the President of the United States, Ronald Reagan. From 2001-2008, he was VMI’s Dean of Faculty. His resume includes numerous teaching positions, publications, and lectures. Training/certification for this work is through the Shalem Institute for Spiritual Formation in Washington, D.C. Dawn has volunteered with the Rockbridge Area Youth Task Force, YMCA, Lexington City Youth Council, and with at-risk children. Carol has had a fascinating career including time as a Foreign Service Office, a professor in Viet Nam, an associate dean at St. Lawrence University, a financial advisor in Lexington, and CFO of the Rockbridge County Public Schools. Carol’s contributions to the community are too numerous to list, but she currently serves on the Rockbridge Area Hospice board of directors, the Lexington Sunrise Rotary Club, and the Rockbridge County Schools Foundation. Carol Wheeler Served since 2013 Carol and her husband have lived in Lexington for 30 years. The Wheelers have two grown sons, one who lives in the Middle East and one in Staunton. The last several years of her working career were spent in Philadelphia and Washington, D.C. Her daughter Jennifer and family live in suburban Detroit. Son John and his family live in Philadelphia. Linda & her husband Alec live in Rockbridge County on a small farm, with a large garden & a small herd of cattle. She currently serves as the chair of the Board of Rockbridge Area Habitat for Humanity. She is also an active member of Collierstown Presbyterian Church and enjoys her work on the Board of Kendal at Lexington. Previous service includes the Board of Pensions of the Presbyterian Church USA, Stonewall Jackson House, and the Rockbridge Library Board Foundation and Rockbridge Grown.
