Scouting Report
GAME PREVIEW:
HISTORY IN THE MAKING. BC vs.
GAC Round 2; but this time it is for the state
championship. BC fans - you’ve been waiting
for this moment. After playing in the state’s
highest classification for most of the program’s
storied history, BC made the switch to AA
and now will be playing for the first football
state championship in school history. Come
fall in line you men of Ol’ BC!
The Cadets have earned the right to play in
the finals. Their tough non-region schedule
helped prepare them for Game No. 15. The
Cadets are battle-tested and are playing
BC’s brand of football - PHYSICAL,
DISCIPLINED and INTELLIGENT.
This team has rewritten the BC record
book. Offensively, the Cadets are averaging
444 yards per game. QB Stevie Powers has
completed 167 passes for 3,090 yards, 30
TDs and 6 INTs with a QB Rating of 140.2.
WR Brad Stewart has caught 64 passes for
1,244 yards and 17 TDs. He also leads the
team with 5 INTs from his safety position.
The ground attack of Chance Jackson (SR),
John Kennedy (SO) and Chris Harris (SO)
has gained 2,483 yards with 7.9 YPC while
scoring 39 TDs. The hard-hitting BC defense
has held opponents to 11 PPG (6.5 PPG in
the playoffs.)
The Spartans are 14-0 and have remained
the No. 1 team in AA since the start of the
season. They’ve defeated six of the top 10 AA
teams in the state, including a brutal stretch
of Lamar County, Vidalia and Fitzgerald the
last three weeks. The high-powered Spartans
will deploy a spread offense to get the ball
into the hands of D-I commits RB Micah
Abernathy (Tennessee), FB Paul Carothers
(Navy) and WR Darius Slayton (Georgia). In
a slugfest at Fitzgerald last Friday, GAC won
on a last-second field goal.
