NOURISHING DRINKS Information Leaflet Your Health. Our Priority. www.stockport.nhs.uk Nutrition and Dietetics, Inpatient Therapies | Stepping Hill Hospital Page 2 of 5 Introduction It is not unusual to have a poor appetite after being unwell. In addition, your body may need extra nourishment to help your recovery. You can often get all the extra nourishment you need by making small, simple changes to your food. The leaflet ‘Improving your dietary intake’ will help you with this. If you have not already received this, you can get a copy from your nurse or other health professional. Drinks can also provide a lot of nourishment if you don’t feel like eating. This leaflet gives practical information on choosing nourishing drinks. Nourishing drinks Some nourishing drinks can be bought ready made from the supermarkets and shops. Examples include smoothies, milk shakes and yogurt drinks such as Yazoo, Frijj, Mars and Yop.
