The challenge is for effective prevention and treatment of illnesses on
a grand scale, in ways that will empower people to be proactive with
their healthcare. Called Accu-ChekView, Roche’s new package combines a blood glucose monitor, a wearable fitness tracker, and an App
developed by SAP that are integrated together. Specifically targeted to
meet the individual needs of patients and doctors, now a patient’s vital
signs and blood sugar level can be watched in relation to their physical
activity level, in real-time. The doctor can monitor the patient remotely,
and the patient can communicate with the doctor’s office.

on
bots
and
the
path
to
simplicity.
We are witnessing a surge in the popularity of bots and - generally
speaking - conversational user interfaces. While the causes of their
popularity can be found in the convergence of several technological and social components, the real catalyzer lies in the way humans
think and communicate. In web pages, eye-candy and information
overload are replacing clarity and succinctness. Bots‘ paradigm pushes web developers and content designers to a more human-friendly communication style. After a short review of the main facts about
bots, we show a few real-world examples of the transition from the
traditional Web UX to the Conversational UX and conclude with
our outlook on the future of web human-machine communication.
